Does this resemble a known form of sympathetic or contagious magic?

I’m hoping some experienced practitioners here can tell me whether something I’ve heard described resembles a known type of magical practice.

I have an old scar on my forehead from an accident roughly 20 years ago. For most of that time it was relatively subtle and stable. More recently, the indentation has become noticeably more pronounced, and part of its shape now resembles an animal paw print to me. I’ve attached a cropped photo for context.

Separately, some time ago someone made a strange comment suggesting that knowledge of the original injury, combined with my personal association with cats, could theoretically be used in an occult working involving me.

I’m not claiming that’s what caused the physical change. I’m treating the scar itself as a mundane/medical issue separately. What I’m trying to identify is whether the practice being described is recognizable within occult traditions.

Specifically:

  • Could knowledge of someone’s previous injury or scar be used as a symbolic link to that person, even without possessing something physical from them?
  • Could an animal strongly associated with that person be incorporated as another correspondence or symbolic link?
  • Are there practices intended to connect that animal symbolism specifically to an existing injury or physical mark?

Would this fall under sympathetic magic, contagious magic, a form of tagging/marking, image magic, or something else entirely?

I’m mainly looking for terminology, traditions, or comparable practices so I can research the idea properly. I’m not asking anyone to perform a working for me.

The operator would basically be making this up and using it as a mental exercise for the working. It is not a link - a link is a physical fetish the operator has in-hand to represent the target when using sympathetic magick.

Not that I have heard of.

My first impression is that this is the reduction of collagen production in the skin, further reduced in that area due to the stored memory of the injury blocking qi flow.
