Question about working with loas

Continuing the discussion from Spirits, Evocation & Possession:

Hello everyone, I’m Mena, so I just finished with the Great work (actually still in the final stages of it), I feel a need to connect and work with the voodoo system, I’m still yet to choose a loa to work with, from what I’ve read so far these spirits are very different and unique from demons and the God-forms I’m used to working with… my questions:

  1. Can you build a friendship type of relationship with loas, instead of worship or God-servant relationship (my entire philosophy is against worship in any form, maybe it’s pride but it is what it is…
  2. What are the downsides or negativities with working with loas??

Actually my motivation or reason for wanting to work with the voodoo system is I need fast and immediate result, and I have a proposal to make to any loa I choose or that is attracted to/interested in me, I have done only one evocation to physical manifestation, I just need advice and info from those wwho are familiar with working with loas or voodoo system. THANK YOU

Actually , what I need is 1 or 2 (or even more) extremely powerful loas whose personality(ies) directly aligns with mine, to work with and build a relationship with :100:

Hello, The first Loa you have to work with is Papa Legba, he’s the first to be call and the last to be dismissed. I think before you work with him or with other Loas you should first gather information about them. EA Koetting’s book " The Spider and the Green Butterfly" is a good resource.

Anyway you can use the search box to get information about the Loas and how to work with them

Ok, but can I work with them without worship¿ And reading that book, last night I heard footsteps around my house, it happens every night now, ever since I opened this book, I have sinced closed it. What do I do?

Yes you can, as long as you respect them.

Did you try any ritual from the book or what did you do ?

I’ve not triedd any of the rituals yet, except for the papa legba protection seal which I drew on my doors, how do I go about invoking papa legba, or should I wait for them to try and connect with me, really don’t know what to do, but i feel their presence very strongly

And my left hand path journey so far is from a Setian philosophy… all dis things is happening admist the whole “christ-crucifixion” phase of the 9th stage of initiation (if you have completed the great work you should know what I’m talking about)…

Denise Alvarado has good books on different forms of voodoo. You may start by reading a guide to serve the seven African powers it’s a good start for a any newbie on voodoo.

The book is easy to use
