Addiction

It’s not easy for me to write this, but I’ve declared it.

I’ve been suffering from porn and masturbation addiction for years, after I started my awakening journey, my soul pushed me towards healing which obviously I healed and it was all well for a month, until I relapsed and got back to the behavior, last year, I kept saying that I’ll heal from this addiction because stopping it it’s not something easy, on 31’st December, idk what happened cus by 1st of January this year, I had completly healed from the both addictions, I was so happy and I thanked the universe for it. But as days went by, I was curious of how I healed I and wished to know how the healing happened, that curiosity dragged me back to the addiction, it’s been month, still going through this addiction, and i wanna heal consciously, know and learn the method of the healing process so that I can help others who are suffering from the same addiction. I was asking if there is a demon who can help with the healing, if there is, I’d really appreciate alot.

Welcome to the club, buddy.

I hope this doesn’t look like I’m promoting my post, but there’s a ton of information from different people on the topic of porn and sex addiction in the responses here. Perhaps you will find the answer among their advice and stories.

I’m not sure why you need a “demon” specifically. Wouldn’t a deity or something similar work?

It’s not a popular opinion here, but one of the most effective approaches to addiction treatment (the 12 steps, if I’m translating it correctly) is based on the idea of God, for example. Also, many people have been able to completely overcome addictions thanks to faith in Jesus. Some may agree or disagree, but this is a fact I observe. I work closely with psychologists and psychotherapists who work in the field of addictive behavior, especially alcoholism, so I’ve seen such stories often.

There are also Asclepius and Panacea from ancient Greece.

I dont think its unpopular; being that I was once a Christian, I saw a lot of people who were addicts turn to Christianity and have a complete 180 in their life. Some people find comfort in seeking a higher power to help them overcome their addictions.

I thought this wasn’t a popular opinion on the forum. Otherwise, I agree with you.

You must understand that Satanism and sorcery are not about prostitution; fundamentally, they have no issue with debauchery, but their purpose is to grant you power. There is no such thing as sex with Satan for the sake of pleasure; sexual acts involving Satan occur only in the context of black magic, for the purpose of transformation.

Strengthening the spirit and Lilith and Samael qliphoth—a feat that only a seasoned sorcerer who has mastered the Abyss would undertake.

Human beings are sexual creatures, and they certainly did not evolve to have the brain of a priest who never has any urges. Even priests secretly do it with nuns, I say this based on information from a relative whose uncle was a priest and confirmed it. Why do you think so many men chase after women? Hormones, urges, and evolutionary wiring.

Sex is probably the primary instinct in mankind, especially with men. The only real reason pornography and masturbation are so widespread nowadays is because men don’t have as easily access to sex as they used to in past history (marriages, concubinage, far less isolation, legalized prostitution, wars, functional men and woman interaction - today a lot of men hate women and a lot of women hate men - etc).

If you want to entirely cut off pornography and masturbation you’d need to replace it with real-life sex, OR, consume such things with moderation. People with long streaks doing the ‘nofap’ challenge for months always fall back down. It’s like wanting to eat once every 4 days, theoretically it’s possible but your entire brain chemistry will be against you and eventually you’ll want to eat more.

You see, in my experience, it is when you put a taboo on those things that you in fact amplify it by giving it more attention, more guilt, emotions, so you fall again, you swear you’ll never do it again, and you eventually of course do it again since you are a sexual being.

When one accepts that fact it’s not hard to get it under control. Of course it depends also if one is clinically hypersexual in which case it’s another topic altogether and should not take my advice. But it’s also counter-productive in my opinion to entirely abstain because the longer you don’t do it, the bigger the urge and feeling on climax (that’s scientifically proven, and also why many intentionally deprive themselves for some time before doing it). It amplifies the obsession with it.

Doing those two things isn’t necessarily harmful in magical development as long as you don’t overdo it, some even use sexual practices to further a magical outcome (sex magick) which may involve either real-life sex or masturbation. Or you could always cut off pornography to simply leave masturbation there, it won’t feel as good and that’s the point, it can be used as a regulatory practice in that case.

It may also help to find an activity where you pour passion and a lot of time to reduce the hold these practices have on your schedule. But maybe it would work using evocation as well, I have no idea, but I just find a little unplausible that a spirit would be able to entirely erase something deeply ingrained in our genetic make-up (not porn usage, but sexual urges which is what it depends on), contrarily for example to alcohol which is less natural in the urge to consume it in the genetic make-up.

Take it as you will though all of what I say here is an opinion and not the ultimate Truth™.

Nonetheless do give evocation a try and let us know how it went! And good luck to you, I know you’ll find a way to make it more manageable.

This precisely sums up my experience too. When I was a Christian we were told masturbation and porn was a sin and a taboo and every time I tried to stay abstinent, I fell “prey” to my “demons” but once you leave purity culture behind, you realise that sex and sexual media aren’t bad and 9x out of 10, the same people spouting about it being a sin, are usually guilty of it themselves.

I witnessed a “faith healer” who pulled the whole 'in jesus name I command this leg to grow" trick at a youth camp I was at once spout out a bunch a crap about how masturbation was a sin and you should feel shame but that through Jesus you would overcome and thats what hooked me into it because I was 16 at the time and of course a 16 year old is looking at porn and masturbating because they’re a hormone riddled teenager but once I left it behind, I started feeling no shame.

Of course with all things it requires moderation. I can go without porn and masturbation for a while its not something to become super dependent on but there have been periods of my life where I’ve required it as a way of “reclaiming” my sexual health because my ex cheated on me and her “love language” was sex when in reality she was just using me for sex.

We are human beings. As such, we are also sexual beings(of course sexuality is a spectrum, I tend to fall more on the asexuality side than anything else). To deny it is to deny being human. But more to the point, in that whole puritan culture in some enclaves of Christianity, we all have sin. We are all sinners. The only one absent of sin was Jesus according to their own faith.

As such, why then do you judge your fellow sinners for not being sinless? And if sexual stuff is a sin, then according to their own faith, so long as you believe in Christ the saviour and Christ the redeemer, who died for your sins, you’ll be fine.

The goal is not to be without sin, the goal is to be more Christ-like.

Exactly, I completely agree. I was a devout sola scriptura christian myself for about two decades and temptation wasn’t strange for me to experience and battle with of course. But xtians are as much a part of the problem as what they believe they are solving in that matter. They invent an imaginary enemy in the head of its believers and as such it does end up becoming a self-created problem.

“Don’t do this” brings attention to the thing that is supposed not to be done compared to one who would innocently do it and just move on because for him it’s just ‘normal’ and as such not do it as much, compared to someone who battles with the contradiction of wanting to do so and not doing it. It’s an unresolved conflict and generally it always finds a way out.

The church knew this and it is why they insisted that sins may be forgiven through confessions, because they knew that human nature was what it was, very difficult to tame since it is a natural (in the sense of evolving within nature), animalistic, genetic being in origin (spiritual also but for the sake of the explanation I don’t mention it). If they truly thought it was possible to overcome such nature entirely they would have just said “do not do it” and confessions wouldn’t even need to be a thing, sin as well would perhaps not exist especially when characterized and associated with “we are all sinners” which is an implicit admission that there are human instincts that persist through the ages and circumstances.

I’m no expert, but being an older person I will make a few pointers. 1) Adapt health behaviors 2) Everyday is self disclpine 3) Stay away from people who have the same poor habits or talk about these areas you are trying to prevent. 4) Just know consciously there is nothing good or postive about self exploitation being pornography. 5) Keep reminding yourself, it’s mental discpline because you are not healed. It’s like any other addiction, everyday you have to work at it to live a healthy lifestyle. If you can have the self discpline and form health habits in your life because the bad shit is all around us, then you can form healthy relationships and better people to be around. It’s a choice.

You must work at it everyday…because its always there. Understand?
