Satan and Vampirism

Does Satan have any associations with vampirism? I ask because I performed a evocation of the great dragon twice and instead of seeing Leviathan in my mind’s eye, I am more connected to the painting of The Great Red Dragon painting by William Blake. I have been reading and studying N. D. Blackwood’s books and the only connection I have is the word Drakul which is Romanian for “The Dragon” and in later years “The Devil”. I am in need of a second opinion.

The figure of Satan doesn’t really have any associations with vampirism per se. However, that is not to say that some people haven’t created any. In popular culture, for example, the fictional novel Dracula promoted the idea that the Count became a vampire by selling his soul to the Devil aka Satan. Bram Stoker based the character on Vlad Tepes, a historical personage who was known for his barbarity and cruelty. After Drakul, or “Son of the Dragon” died, propaganda pamphlets circulated throughout the Carpathian towns containing exaggerated tales depicting him as a monster and a “devil” and he entered into local legend.

Okay. Another question I have is what is an alternative for menstrual blood? As of right now, that is impossible for me to obtain.

In my mind, no. The reason is both these myths and the mixing up of them came by fiction writers after the original stories become old history.

The original Vlad Drakul the Impaler was not an energy vampire, he was a heroic warlord defending his country from a Turkish invasion. The vampire part was invented by Bram Stoker and inspired by stories of Revenants form the same region, but they’re not related except in western fiction. Vlad Drakul was not a Revenant.

Dragons are not typically seen as vampires - dragons have varies myths ranging from being extinct animals to representations of everything humans fear, to conduits for energy.

The Draconian Current of magick, a la folks like Asenath Mason, view some spirits as dragons. I think some are seen as vampiric like Lilith sometimes, but I see then as higher beings that have no need for human energy, being a) not Earthbound and b) having their own energy sources (like, humans eat food and breathe, they have their own ways)

I’m not sure, but I think I recall Blackwood claimed there’s an order he got his info from and he has made this connection of the word “Drakul” to his work. I don’t believe a word of it because as an energy worker I can see the holes in the premise, and this the whole human vampire thing is mostly ill-advised if not harmful nonsense. My personal stance on that where I explain myself is here. Probably not a popular opinion among the terminally edgy but I’m all about practicality not looking pretty.

So what can I do then? I’ve been feeling lost, empty, and broken for a very long time. It got so bad I started developing existential dread and severe depression. I’m also…unable to heal, forget, nor forgive my past. I’m not sure what to do nor who to turn to for help.

Are these all connected? If so, then that wound from the past seems to be root problem, which, if it can be healed, would unlock you so you can find your way again?

In modern terms I think this might be called CPTSD - Complex Post Traumatic Stress, you get all sorts of debilitating issues from that, from emotional flashbacks to survivors guilt, that tell you you’re not allowed to be happy for various reasons.

I would say you really need a good therapist - not a talk therapist who just males you relive that crap again, but on that can take it from here, work through ways to stop the flashbacks and the interjecting silent voices that get in the way.

Take a look at this informational video that talks about how to recover from CPTSD, a lot of this is inner work, what in magick we call “shadow work”, which is all about redefining yourself and fixing the wiring in your brain that developed at the time, but are now unhelpful, a sort of reconditioning, basically. If it fits, then maybe you have focus point for your path forward.

You can work with entities for healing at the same time, I like Leraje, Azazel, Marbas, Bael for things like this, and they can support you and bring you the right info at the right time…

What do you think?

I think you might be right. You mentioned Shadow Work and the image of the vampire is what my “Shadow” looked like.

I have my own personal list of self help spirits here
My personal experiences using Magick to combat self harm

But do try your best to attempt normal methods of self help and coping before relying solely on magickal practice like I ended up doing. A good meditation session and a cup of coffee will never fail to clear your mind as well.

I second this, particularly Azazel that helped me heal from loads of crap. Not an easygoing teacher and absolutely amazing healer.
