Maybe look into why you feel a need to “belong”? Magick is really more like a tool.
You can integrate a tool into your lifestyle I suppose. But it doesn’t own you, you are not that thing, you are only using that thing.
Yes, you only really find out what the path is when you look back on it. In the moment it’s not usually known or laid out, maps kind of exist but are suggestions not rules, and it’s probably not even helpful to try to proscribe it in too great a detail. You have to have room to breathe, get it wrong a bit, try again, repeat and learn as you go. Much of it isn’t know until you get further along, just because there’s so much out there you can’t know it all upfront.
This was part of the point of the alchemists trying to love longer - to give themselves more time to learn.
There’s a lot but maybe you don’t need to learn every detail of every variation on a theme. At some point you realize it’s all speaking to the same underlying truth, just using different language from different cultural backgrounds.
And that “truth” isn’t in a book because language itself if a barrier and part of the “veil” - it must be felt, it cannot be told.
I think you have started the right way, in that now you are practicing. It’s a case of doing more of that. Pick up a book on qigong say, and start practicing energy working in parallel to your work talking to entries and developing your psychic sense in your astral temple.
One book will lead to another book, another video, another line of research and the path unfolds before you that way. It literally materializes under you feet right as you step on it.
It doesn’t even matter where you start, there’s is no right or wrong as you want to learn it all anyway. Just read and try.
For qigong, try “Relaxing into your Being - the Water method of Taoist Meditation” as a good primer to get your system balanced and start you feeling energy.
