I want to understand Andrew Chumbly['s] … techniques.
I can’t speak for the second book but the Hygromanteia has nothing to do with Enochian. Neither has anything to do with Chumbly
This looks like a nice topic starter to me.
I don’t personally know much about Andrew Chumbley apart from seeing him interviewed on youtube. He’s certainly a long time respected magickal author.
He is famously the author of The Azoëtia: A Grimoire of the Sabbatic Craft, but sadly many of his books are unavailable in print today, but can be found as PDFs and at second hand occult book stores.
Did you have any particular technique in mind - I’m guessing you’re more interested i=in his Draconian truff as a Satanist rather than the witchcraft or… ?
I noticed that - the enochian mention was in the same sentence but are not related, and so I’m splitting it out into it’s own topic.
I don’t understand I added ceremonial magic in general if no one cares about John Dee and Andrew Chumbley
Ah. I misunderstood your intention. I have a copy of Hygromanteia packed away. Stephen Skinner is an excellent scholar imo. The essays preceding the grimoire material were more useful to me than the grimoire itself.
You can make a new discussion about that or use the search as this forum has 14 years of that for you to read already.
Andrey Chumbley does have some posts about him here, such as these:
The newest publications tend to get the most interest, and sadly, Andrew Chumbley passed away in 2004, so there will be no more books to get that kind of attention. Doesn’t mean that his work doesn’t still influence mages today, and if you had used the search you would have seen people making posts to that effect on this very forum.
Andrew Chumbly have concept Sabbatic Arcana 22 If you notice, Azoetia links rituals to the alphabet; he was influenced by Austin Osman because he is the originator of the concept of the alphabet. 22 But if you notice, his magic depends on a unique state of consciousness. Hypnagogia
Even in his theology or cosmology, he relies on the Earth daimon; this is what i was able to understand. But their most important work was the book The Dragon of Essex.
Yes, I don’t own any non-electronic books. The reason My language is Arabic and The Egyptian currency is weak
Ok, are you talking about the techniques in The Dragon Book of Essex specifically? … Was there a question you had in mind?
For anyone wondering, this is still available in print at Amazon:
This sounds similar to what we call the trance state, or TGS - Theta Gamma State. It is required to allow your mind to receive impressions more clearly from he subconscious mind.
We have an excellent and well-tested tutorial for attaining this state for free here (everything on this forum is offered free, always):
A post was merged into an existing topic: Ceremonial Magick
How the essays preceding the grimoire material were more useful to you than the grimoire itself Is this essays in the book
