The version we know, that even gets played backwards, is trash! It was translated from Aramaic to Greek to LATIN to English. Many simplifications and obfuscation garbled it’s original meaning.
Here is a version translated directly from Aramaic to English: see if you can pick out the mappings…
Oh cosmic birther of all radiance and vibration
Soften the ground of our being
And carve out space within us where your presence can abide
Fill us with your creativity, so that we may be empowered to bear the fruits of your mission
Let each of our actions bear fruit in accordance with our desire
Endow us with the wisdom to produce and share what each being needs to grow and flourish
Untie the tangled threads of destiny that bind us
As we release others from the entanglements of past mistakes
Do not let us be seduced by that which would divert us from our true purpose
But illuminate the opportunities of our present moment
For you are the ground and fruitful vision
The birth, power and fulfilment as all is gathered and made whole once again
And so it is
A couple of things really stands out: it’s so much more positive, supporting and empowering .There’s no “sin” or “temptation”, there’s no “trespassing” or doin’ it rong, there’s acknowledgement that our desires are valid, it’s fruit and fruitfulness, fulfillment and opportunity not just bread.
I’m not sure which version of the Aramaic this came from, but it was going viral in the circles I follow online. While I was aware that the Jesus of Nazareth, Joshua followed a mystery school we have little idea of the teachings of, I was shocked to realise this has been available in Aramaic all the time.
It makes SO much more sense from both a magickal and mystical perspective than the bullshit version in modern bibles.
