What worst can happen during Spirit contact?

Hey guys. What is the worst thing that can happen during the invocation/evocation in general when you are face to face with an ancient Spirit? Can he physically attack us? Scratch etc? And what, for example, was the worst thing that happened to you during a spirit encounter?

I can only speak out of personal experience.
If you do a proper cleansing/ banishing before and set boundaries at the start of the ritual so you know only the spirit you want to contact shows up.
Worst thing that can happen is that the spirit doesn’t show up, or (in the case of underworld/ infernal spirits especially) gives you exactly what you need. Which can result in some unforeseen and chaotic situations in mundane life. Or at least those are the things that have happened to me so far.
Physically attacking is more likely something lesser imposter/ parasitic spirits like for instance incubi or succubi do. That elicits a direct and heightened emotional response which they can feed on.

I include the boundaries for my rituals first in the calling of the cardinal directions and set them further when calling on my main goddess or one of her kin to protect the circle.

Do not allow lesser entities and astral wildlife to mess with you and only talk to higher beings worth your time, and you’ll be fine. Having good spiritual hygiene is important. Same as you don’t allow your house to get infested with insects, you don’t let parasites and unwanted randoms wander into your rituals.

I’m the worst thing that happens to things in my spirit encounters. Take control and keep it and nobody has to get upset. This isn’t an episode of ghost hunters.
