Due to lack of knowledge about the ancient celts, save the last real druid, neo druids, witches, and occultists, most of the history comes from Roman philosophers and historians. Rome tried to take them several times. Would be interesting to compare roman accounts to Celtic literature.
My family goes back by Cameron highlanders, and within Mary Queen of Scots reign.
Have green birthday candles, will invoke Cernunnos today seated south facing north.
A first couple steps would be to master the ogham and Pictish scripts, and construct runes based on them; then to learn astrology and botany
Placed mug (cauldron) behind candle hoping to catch a scry or an orb.
Chanted Cernunnos down to nearly the plastic tee.
LRP and invocations soon.
A job well done Cerridwen, Moon God, Lord of Three Flames in One. Just as invoked, so seen. So mote it be.
Quick fyi, Cerridwen is a goddess. She is the Keeper of the caulfron, mother of Merlin. Cernunnos is a god.
Appreciate it. They have equal footing anyway … but new knowledge is always good. My camera couldn’t catch it while chanting, but three in one flame appeared.
Here you go… the story is very important in Celtic lore, and is the transformation story of how a boy is changed into the most powerful mage in Britain (Wales, technically, but all Britain imo) through the power of the goddess.
tl;dr she fights him, eats him, becomes pregnant with him, and rebirths him as all wise and all knowing. The Merlin.
