I am just starting out in the area of magic, in Theurgia, divine magic, and I wanted to know out of curiosity how angels, like the Shemhamphorasch among others, normally present themselves to you in manifestations. Just so I don’t get scared by them.
In physical manifestation using a manifestation base, it’s not very spectacular - the feeling that comes with them has a lot more import.

I am not a very visual person, but I m energy sensitive and have weak clairaudience. I generally get feelings, thoughts, emotions, impressions (aka flashes) and sounds in my head. A lot of the entities I work with prefer to manifest behind me and not even in the manifestation base, and some move if you try to look at them, so you’ll never see those with your eyes, only your minds eye.

My older sister, who is quite experienced about angels, had a close encounter with one of them. She told me she was reading a book and fell asleep, and suddenly something wake her up, and there was one of them right in front of her. She said he was very beautiful, dressed in old fashioned robes, no wings and no feet (not visible at least), and he / she (androgynous looking with lined eyes) told her to not be scared as he meant no harm, with a voice in her mind.
My sister was shit scared and didnt know what to do, except facepalming and telling him to go because the experience was too much at that moment. Funny thing is while she was palmfacing, she peeked out between her fingers and yes, he was right there smiling at her, and a moment later he was gone. She was completely alone in her apartment.

For me, it depends on the angel. Some angels have more “human-like” appearances, while others look like cryptids, for lack of a better word.

It depends on your current schema. How you see angels may be based on your upbringing and how it shaped your views on the path you have now chosen to walk.

Yeah, I think cryptids is a good way to put it. Things that kind of have biological characterizes but can be all mixed up and chimeric.
I found a mention of one angelic I saw here: I believe this was Caliel of the Shem HaMephorash
Like this, appearing just behind my right shoulder and above me. But this is a mionds-eye impression not a physicals thing that light waves can bounce off, the feeling is dulled and not scary because of this detachment - my animal (the primate I’m incarnate into that has survival needs) can’t see it, so it has nothing to get its hormones in a tizzy about.

Most of the time I had them appear like a human with wings and robes on. I’ve seen them also in biblical accurate appearance. I saw Azrael as one big blue eye with a lot of black wings around him.
One time saw a angel in a triangle shape in neon blue color like the hexagram of fire in the lesser ritual of the hexagram.
I also saw Damien Echols refer to angels appearing in these triangle forms.

The clearest vision of any being I’ve ever had was the Archangel Raziel, however I was right in the middle of an ayahuasca ceremony. So not entirely reliable. He appeared to me in a robe made of bright silver, it looked like it was made out of something like light, but not light? Hard to relate. He had a human appearance with long flowing black hair.
Otherwise I don’t really see spirits. I’m more clairsentient than anything. The most I usually get is a vague outline of where the spirit is.

I haven’t really “seen” physically as a straight up evocation any of the angels I’ve worked with, the demonic/Goetic spirits have been more generous with ascribing a dedicated physical appearance to themselves with a chance of a flickering evocation in a manifestation base…
And even then, what I see with my physical eyes is a pale shadow of what I can see when I close my eyes and focus on what my mind presents.
Angels, I see as a thickening of the air at most, like Mulberry describes in the linked post, I have seen something akin to heat density when a spirit has been present. In my mind’s eye, Gabriel has generously appeared to interact with me in a human-like form… the only of the four archangels to do so. (Hot guy, no wings, robes, a luminescent aura, spoke with a voice in my mind.) The others have at best offered me the shadow of a voice in communication. Whereas ALL of the Goetic entities I’ve worked with have given themselves a recognizable form in my mind’s eye and typically spoken.
Pahaliah of the Shem HaMephorash appeared to me as an intense energy and a loud internal voice.
Metatron I have experienced only as what I can best describe as some mind-bending non-euclidean 4+ dimensional geometry and it’s absolutely wild to me that RHP practitioners are like, “yes, I only work with angels because they’re safer” and then proceed to call on Metatron…
Others, I have not “seen” the image in my mind’s eye (which is odd, because I’m actually pretty good at visualization and can typically ascribe a fully functional appearance to a Goetic spirit interacting with me), but I have received like, the feeling of being in the presence of a wheel within a wheel flickering through slides each of which is watching me, or a flutter of too many wings or being under the gaze of way too many eyes. Not at all human, not particularly conversational. Their voices resonate through my throat like I tapped into a vibratory rumble rather than congealing into strict sentence-structure words. They simply don’t allow me to turn myself to look at them in the astral, impossible to pin down. It felt very much like I was the one who was pinned down under the studious gaze of these entities.
Archangel Gabriel and Pahaliah have been by far the least frightening of the angelic energies I’ve encountered, and only Gabriel appeared as something approachably recognizable.
There’s a good reason that the Biblical accounts always begin with the command, “Do not be afraid.” Angels are kind of straight up eldritch. But they may entertain the reality that you’re human and put on a humanoid mask of their true nature. If you feel called to work with them, you should.
