when i chanted it i felt similar to how it feels when invoking deities, atleast how i feel it. like something is enveloping around you like a warm blanket. does this mantra invoke deities because i really dont want that at this current time. perhaps i just feel my astral body activated?

Funnily enough someone yes yesterday posted about a similar thing:
Some chants and meditations do warm you up, some even by design (e.g. I will pore-breathe the Sun when I’m cold outside in Winter in winter to warm).
So you don’t have to be invoking to do that, and likewise, invoking doesn’t always make everyone feel warm either.
Based on what I could find about this chant, if it’s the one I think, “Fa ra on” for Astral projection, there is no energy raised by this other than what you personally intend. It’s a tool for focusing your mind, basically, no invocation involved.
update: its now been 3 days since i chanted the mantra for 20 minutes and i have been struck with severe insomnia and 2 nights ago i believe i was visited by a powerful spirit, perhaps the same spirit i felt entering my body during the chanting. I felt a slight breeze on my body but without any active ventilation present and i felt a putrid smell when it happened, later on as i slept i had bad dreams and i awoke during the middle of the night and as i thought about a potential spirit in the room, one of the lights that was now turned off started flickering. i paid no attention to it and went back to sleep.
whether this is due to the mantra in question or the spirit just happened to be around as i was chanting and is fucking with me i do not know. it is however a powerful mantra and i felt it intensily

Tbf, I had insomia a few weeks back when I tried to ask genesha to come to my dreams… well that Didn’t happen.
I think I was too ungrounded or so, maybe I bult up too much energy idk. Just a guess, if it’s the same case for you.
