So I view a sigil as the phone number for an entity, and if a sigil is a phone number, then an enn is like sending them a text message.
Obviously numerous entities have sigils and enns, but who out there has a personal sigil and / or enn?
On a recent spirit journey in which I set out to find my magickal name, not only did I find a name but a sigil and enn for myself simply blasted through me. It is apparently used to invoke a specific side of myself. I also used the sigil and enn to switch in and out of my body in a possession ritual, allowing the entity to call me back into my body with it after using their skills through my physical body.
I’ve run into a couple of historical threads where people talked about having their own sigil. Obviously you should not share your sigil. But I am curious who’s made their own, if you consciously designed it or channelled it, and what kind of workings you do with it.
The magick name I’m using from now on to talk to spirits in order to keep my physical body’s name out of it.
I have a sigil and magickal name which I see as the same thing as that name of my higher self.
I avoid enns because those are from the religion of demonolatry, and I despise worship and groveling in all forms, a chant I could deal with but not an enn, by the Belial in me, that just disgusts me.
My chant affirming my connection to my higher self however is here in response to someone who also made themselves a sigil:
I also have a couple of sigils that represent me with an entity invoked, a sort of combo being.
thats kind of funny, i LOVE worship. i highly recommend it. when you finally open up to a deity and worship and it fills you with so much beautiful energy joining with yours in perfect union. its so beautiful that i almost cry
It’s fascinating that you received your magickal name, sigil, and enn during your spirit journey. The way you’re using your sigil and enn for invocation and possession rituals sounds powerful and deeply personal. While I don’t have a personal sigil myself, I’ve encountered others who have channeled or designed theirs consciously, often as a way to tap into deeper aspects of their identity or to mark their spiritual evolution.
I’d agree: because enn’s are from the religion of demonolatry, while anyone can make a chant for themselves and call it an enn, demonolatry has it’s own doctrine that defines what a demon is and supplies the enns.
They get used as summoning chants and they work, but are technically prayers of worship. This is why I do not use them, ever.
Any demonolater can create an enn for a “demon”, but whether that religion considers is possible for an incarnate human to call themselves a demon I’m not actually sure. It’s a different path of ascent to consider oneself a living god, and from there another thing again to worship yourself, as far as I know.
I would advise people who don’t identify as adherents to demonolatry just call it chant to avoid confusion and assumptions about what their path is.
What I read in this is the act of invocation, which is not the same thing as worship. I see worship as giving your power away to another being by being overly sycophantic and diminishing oneself with groveling. but frankly all beings are always going to be lesser than you. It’s the ultimate form of disrespect to yourself as a living god.
i guess its just preference. i have a deep desire to get on my knees and worship something and its not necessarily an invocation either. I can chant a mantra or an enn but its not always the case. sometimes i just call upon the entity or think about them and i feel this immense love for them as a superior entity that i just fall flat on my face. This is typically when the deity responds and fills me with immense feelings of beauty to the point of tears. i prefer more right hand path. I recognise that this is primarily a left hand path forum and thats why i dont preach but what i can do is say that i have never experienced any higher state or sense of beauty and love for another being than worship. To each their own
