Hello I am kind of new to all of this, but I have a question.
Since I was young I have always been interesting THE Grim Reaper/Death, what I want is to be directed on the path of a Reaper, I don’t really want to work with demons, or any other being, only Reapers and Death Gods/Lords, nothing else really interest me.
ive been told I am linked to Reaping, and always ran into others who are self proclaimed Reapers of Death, or had connection with Reapers/Death.
many different say that many different spirits/gods are death, but in my eyes only ONE can be THE REAPER/Death, personally I thinks its Thanatos.
My Question: What Spirit/God/s I should work with in order be on the path as a Reaper, I want the wisdom and power of a reaper/Death, and to be reborn as one, fully changing my soul into this being.
I feel as one with death, as I type this right now I feel bliss just thinking about The Grim Reaper/Death.
I am a Lost soul in need.
Welcome @DeathsAssociate It is a rule of this forum for all new members to properly introduce themselves so PLEASE CLICK ON THE IMAGE BELOW and tell us about yourself and any experience you may have in magick, such as what you practice, how long you have practiced, areas of interest, etc:

PS: While there are plenty of gods of death and skeletal figures in most cultures, there is no such thing as the “Grim Reaper.” That modern concept came into being in 14th Century Europe during the ravages of bubonic plague aka The Black Death. “Reaper” as a job description is a creation of modern role-playing games. However, since the chaos magick paradigm proved magicians can work with anything provided their belief in it is strong enough, look into the book Liber Falxifer, current 218, and the Qayin tradition.

There are chthonic and death-related deities in every pantheon, from the Egyptian (such as Anubis) to the Hindu , etc… I’ll provide a list of some Greek and Roman deities associated with death since it’s the pantheon I’m most familiar with. I’ll let you decide which deity seems more fitting to you:
Greek Pantheon:
Hades: Lord of the Underworld and the dead.
Persephone: Queen of the Underworld, daughter of Demeter, goddess of seasons.
Erinyes (Furies): Vengeful deities of the damned souls.
The most important, according to me, is Hecate, the goddess of magic, crossroads, and the underworld, often associated with necromancy.
And finally Thanatos, the personification of death itself.
Roman Pantheon:
Pluto (Pluton): Roman equivalent of Hades, god of the Underworld.
Libitina: Goddess of death, funerals, and burials.
Manes: Ancestral spirits revered as protectors of the family and homes.
Additionally, consider working with entities like Santa Muerte (or its Argentine counterpart, San La Muerte). Many in this forum have had experiences with this spirit. Use the search button to find a lot of information about it. Among the spirits of the Goetia, one that comes to mind is Bune, who is known to be able to teach necromancy. As for angels, in the Abrahamic tradition, the angel of death is Azrael (not to be confused with Arzel, which are two distinct entities).

Traditionally this has been left to the women. Valkries and daughters of the morrighan for example.
I would suggest calling The Morrighan.
Note, this time Is not about killing. The warriors or sickness have to have put the body in a dying state. A morrighan only makes the passing faster. You don’t choose who dies. These beings are also there to mourn the dead.
It’s a metaphor, not an actual entity.
Death is the transition of the immortal spirit between states of being. Imo. It scares people though the fear of the unknown so they make up fancy stories about it.
Death deities are entities that may also be metaphorical, while some represent things that damage a system enough to allow death to occur, such as war, pestilence and bad weather.
So death isn’t actually a big deal in my opinion, very overrated… it’s our mytholigising and hand wringing around it that creates such colorful entities as “reapers”.
It’s not that there’s no such thing, but the process naturally happens with or without them getting involved. I see them ultimately as helping spirits.

I do agree very much. Death is not a big deal, at least not as big as we western cultures might make it out to be. More of a transitionary state than some permanent occurrence. Although I would like to state that death as force and concept is older and more powerful than any god and most if not any other forces. As it embodies transience and decay. Something that (imho) is rooted as one of the basic principles of this universe.
On a personal level, that energy certainly feels like it’s no joke as well. I am still a beginner on the LHP, but have explored quite a lot and am not at all afraid to play around with demons, spirits, gods and the wilder nature spirits and energies. But this felt like something to be respected a whole lot more ( to me it was kinda like the difference between swimming in a lake and the ocean). I can advice the OP: @DeathsAssociate to learn how to (if you haven’t already) safely get used to that energy, filter that energy and maybe even learn to transmute it into something beneficial to you. If you don’t do that, it will use you instead of the other way around and you could get seriously ill.
I’ve decided to let necromancy be for a little while, or at least the part of it I’m most interested in (connecting with death itself). Until I am far better prepared for it.
A little footnote to that: It’s probably very personal in terms of how you react to that energy, some people might naturally be way better equipped to deal with it than others. But it’s still something to be careful with.

I resonate with Thanatos but there isnt much information on working with him(or at least I cant find anything), so I will be working Santa Muerte.
but indeed thank you for this helpful information, I will keep all of these Names in mind as I progress on this Death journey
