I’ll pobably stick with my tried and true camo Braves hat (I’m a Georgia boy what can I say?), while not as elaborate as the head dress its chock full of my esoteric power and does an exceptional job covering my bald head.
i personally would like to hear you do an interview with an experienced obeah worker. one thing i realized a long time ago is that western magicians don’t really know very much about the atr from protestant countries - usually you go to vodun, santeria, candomble, or the atrs from catholic countries. obeah is from the protestant country of jamaica and it is VERY fucking powerful. there are other forms of atr such as shango in trinidad, and the xian-based magicks such as kumina, revival zion, and pocomania just in jamaica alone. westerners almost NEVER talk about these magics, mostly because they don’t know they exist and even when they do, they hardly know anything about them. if you brought these magickal systems to light and explained them to balg subscribers, you’d be the first online to do so in any level of detail beyond hearsay. in fact one of the very first to even try.

It’s always like that, and folks often don’t like people who speak something out of their ideals anyway. I mean, if someone told half of us that the lives we lived were useless, that all the magick we did was a game, and that everything we were doing was a lot easier than we are making it to be, only a small fraction would actually be willing to listen without affording some decent degree of resistance. So when you take folks, who’s magickal careers are older than some of our entire lifespans, then this type of thing is liable to happen at least some significant percentage of the time. Is it intelligent? Not always, although it’s not necessarily stupid either, at least not all the time. Whether it is surprising though… hardly.
Sometime ea should have someone get possessed by a demonic king or something and then interview that person while they are possessed.

Frank, even though you mention these old grimoires, take into account that these grimoires also placed these entities as being pretty dangerous and taboo. Aleister Crowley, for all his accolades as a revolutionary, still addressed the Goetia with YHWH invocations and threats, so there’s going to be that element.
