Who genuinely works with Baphomet?

Hey guys,

I am planning to work with Baphomet. When I use the search function I don’t see any genuine post about him. It’s only arguing if he’s real or not.

So I am asking: who works with Baphomet ? And what are your experiences with him. In what area of life does he succeed ?

My intuition is already telling me he’s related Mercury and he may love to protect sea travelers and shepherds

He is perfect for embodying the great Inner Alchemycal Work of Balance and selfdeification //The Magnum Opus\ of an Black Mage.

Having his essence installed will allow you further divine self integration and selfrealization due to his perfected symbolic and archetypal nature and being made partialy real due to people literally worshiping and of course working with it.

I work with it -and it’s not a he it’s an it by design, obviously - an entity that is an egregoric archetypal energy representing the alchemical marriage of opposites, of yin and yang into balance as part of progressing the great work.

It’s a symbol not meant to be taken literally as an entity but as a teaching tool, meditate on the image and it’s absolutely chock full of information.

Levi considered the Baphomet to be a depiction of the absolute in symbolic form. His treatment of the Baphomet Mythos is used as a front piece to one of his many books. According to Michael Howard Levi based the illustration on a Gargoyle that appears on a building owned by the Templars; the Commandry of Saint Bris le Vineux.

It works very well to ask questions about the great work and your ascent and help you come to know yourself better.

Such as “why isn’t my kundalini rising above x point?” and it can show you how to love past such blocks, unite your shadow and overt selves (via shadow work with it’s guidance) and transmute unwanted aspects by alchemical (energy working) means.

I guess you could work with an invented egregore inspired by Baphomet that’s a “he” and gets attached to him all the trappings of Goetia entity to :flesh him out" as it were… but that seems to water down the purpose and rather pointless and mediocre given there are so many other entities that would already fit such a purpose, but only one original baphomet.

All the planets. that’s the point - union of all things in the perfected great work. No more imbalance towards one thing or another, as above so below, as within so without - look at his hands, one up one down, two children ale and female learning, one female breast and one male pec, half female half male, both make and female but neither, the caduceus rising which is the awakened kundalini, the fire of spirit. The extra bits in the drawing are also part of the symbolism not just decoration.

Hi @Mulberry
Thank you very much for the knowledge regarding Baphomet. This is really helpful, I am gonna take him as a « it »

It’s going to take me some time to fully understand how to work with it because I am such inexperienced when it comes to alchemy

thanks for your sharing.

So Baphomet works more on the internal level rather than material?

There will come a time in your intuitive understanding that you have integrated it. And than you finally let it go and let it do its think with you ,in wich it will greatly benefit you over the long course of your journey.

You will for sure see, and recognize it!

I 100% believe Baphomet is a Western demonization of Shiva, based on my own experiences.

For some reason, Western magick loves to demonize spirits that are actually beneficial in other cultures.

Make of that what you will, and study forward from there if you want to. A Maha Shivaratri at a Hindu temple can help you figure out if my observation is similar to your own gnosis or not. Take it from there

Yeah Baphomet (the original) is a great magician map. Franz Bardon re used its symbolism to place the elementary energies in the body etc.

We are all Baphomet.

Well i know some people/magicians who consider Baphomet as a demon but i’m not sure this is what it originally was.

Eliphas Levi gives a clear description of it, imo it’s a symbol of what the magician should does.

The more i study the magick, the more techniques i use can be seen in that Baphomet artwork above ahaha.

When you study the history of animal magnetism, you realize that Levi got much of his esoteric knowledge from Baron du Potet, who was considered the finest animal magnetist of his era.

I personally believe Levi was wrong about Baphomet in many regards, and studying Shiva as a contrast points them out pretty clearly.

For one thing, Baphomet’s head is the Goat of Mendes, which connects to Saturn. Baphomet is also surrounded by the arcs of the Moon, which is the opposite counterpart to Saturn in the Tree of Life. This places Baphomet on the Pillar of Severity in a sphere representing old age, decay, and death as well as the sphere of the stars. The combination of Binah and Chokmah points to baneful stars.

Yet Shiva’s trident points to Neptune, a higher octave of Jupiter. Shiva also contains the sliver of he Moon, but a higher aspect of the Moon in Chokmah. Chokmah and Chesed are on the same Pillar of Mercy along with Netzach, which is Venus and the planet Earth. Chokmah represents the nakshatras while Chesed is Neptune, so the Pillar lines up thematically. Chokmah shin, Chesed kaph, and Netzach daleth also spell out Wisdom, Mercy, and Victory which are aspects of Shiva, and lead directly through Earth in daleth to the elements in Malkuth via Dagim qoph (Pisces, which is ruled by Neptune). These links all tie directly back into Shiva as the symbolism in Shiva ties to all of these spheres.

Shiva also represents many nakshatras including Ashvini (β and γ Arietis), Bharani (35, 39, and 41 Arietis, which formed the now-defunct constellation Musca Borealis), Aslesha (δ, ε, η, ρ, and σ Hydrae, a key constellation in the Books Of Moses), (α Boötis), and Purva Bhadrapada (α and β Pegasi).

Finally, there are symobls in Baphomet that belong to Shiva, but are given differently. The caduceus kundalini serpents in Baphomet are in the solar plexus area, but in Shiva are in the head and around the neck. Shiva’s halo is above its head where Kether Elyon is in the Tree - in Baphomet the fire of Elyon is on a torch. Shiva wears both rudraksha beads and a kundalini serpent around his neck while Baphomet has the beard of the goat and woman’s breasts (the Lunar Godname Shaddai etymologially descends from a Syrian word that translates to breasts). Rudraksha beads (the Tears Of Shiva) tie back into the Water element of Pisces and Neptune, and are important meditation objects that cover all of the planets and elements of creation, they form the Tree Of Life in miniature.

There are many links to Shiva that just don’t exist when you look into Baphomet, and there are a lot of things people just don’t know about Baphomet because they don’t know where to start.

Understanding Shiva is a lot easier than trying to understand Baphomet and leads to fewer silly errors, including the belief that Baphomet and Satan have anything to do with each other, or that Baphomet devotion is Satanism - they do not and it isn’t.
