What were some times when you broke a really "important commandment" or 'sinned' relative to a prior religion you were a part of and how did it make you feel afterward? How did you benefit as a result?

Even the right hand path orders and structures of the world say that “it is impossible to live without sin.” Therefore, I say that no loving being (as they say) would encourage you to never break THIS commandment. LOL :innocent: (and so on and so forth…)

Years ago I did something I never thought I’d do! :disappointed:& never Wanted to do. & I still feel so ashamed & guilty for basically being a Homewrecker! I was involved with a married man & I hated myself for it. & knew that if I were married & my husband was doing that it would just Devastate me! The problem though is I did this even after accepting Christianity so I think something is very wrong with me. I even sometimes talked/texted his wife. Not mean things. Just I think her trying to understand my actions. & my Stepfather even told me “ matbe she’ll put a Bullet in you”:flushed:but Thankfully she wasn’t that kind of person & didn’t do that. But I know I’d totally deserve it. I never thought I’d be one of those kinda women & never been married myself & really think I don’t deserve to be

I don’t believe in “sin”, other than as a mind control device. Some people do seem to need to be handed down an ethical code as they have no morals of their own and actually don’t know right from wrong, but I’m not one of them, or so I like to think at least, having a conscience and empathy like most normal people do.

Thus I judge myself, and I’ve made terrible mistakes, but they were not “sins”, and yet I’ve “sinned” and there was nothing wrong with it, nobody got hurt or even upset.

So, sin is a stupid concept for the sheep and the psychopaths, imo, get some morals instead. Know thyself, understand your own values and principles, and stick to them as the hill you would die on.

I think most people completely misunderstand the concept of “sin.” Sin simply means to miss the mark. It has to do with our intentions. Within a religious context, it means that in order to be closer to God, one must follow God’s rules. However, these rules are not those written by man, but those placed by God in our heart aka those we instinctively know to be right and wrong. For example, most of us know instinctively that killing another human being is wrong, though there are some contexts, such as in self-defense, when it may be necessary. This is why we feel guilt for it, even when we know there was no choice if we were to survive.

By definition, we do not get to choose what is a sin and what is not. On the LHP, we like to decide our own fate and choose our own moral compass but we do that by going by what we feel is correct for ourselves so we are, technically speaking, not sinning because by doing so, we are going by what God placed in our hearts, even if it contradicts what the man-made codes of conduct like the bible or the church decree. Even someone who doesn’t believe in God isn’t sinning if he is guided by what he himself knows to be right and wrong. Our brain is actually responsible for our morality; as we developed into a social species, we evolved certain moral traits that made survival easier in large groups. In essence, we are hard wired for getting along with each other and this is the same for other social animals, like wolves, who instinctively follow their own social hierarchy and behaviour.

However, our rational mind gives us free will, which is really the ability to choose to follow what is in our heart or not. This is where our intentions come into play. If you choose to kill, knowing it is wrong, you sin. If you are forced to kill to save yourself or another, you do not sin as there was no intention involved. Even secular law recognizes the role of intention in the actions a person may take.

Amen brother…lol. Sage words of wisdom. It is rather uplifting to realize it and free yourself from the burden of man’s interpretation of a deity’s intent.
