At the moment I see the higher self as pretty much the same thing as the subconscious/unconscious/inner self. Yes it can and is manipulated daily by subliminal programing. You can do this yourself with techniques like NLP and meditation, and it’s a good idea to limit external programming from sources with nefarious interests, like people trying to make money off you.
The purpose of it is that is IS you. It is what is incarnate as human and you would be a soulless shell without it, prime for a walk in, or the body would just sicken and die.
Your conscious mind is only part of you, also called the ago consciousness, which doe snot have the esoteric understanding and connection the ‘higher’ self has.
This means is has a bigger picture view than the conscious mind, and this is why it’s a bad idea to let the conscious mind make unilateral decisions - it doesn’t always have all the information to make good choices. The subconscious literally has the benefit of foresight.
The ideal situation is to work with it, not against it - use meditation and other techniques to learn how to communicate freely and effectively with this, so it can give you the right info at the right time, and you can make the best decisions as a whole, integrated being.
If that were true then the majority of Higher Self(s) want their individual self(s) to live the existence of unthinking, uneducated, uncaring, uncultured retards!

The way I understand it it’s the advanced version of future you who can help you in the present. You still have a choice whether or not to accept though.
The places/situations we were born in were chosen by the higher selves, so it’s still subjugation, or what I call “indirect” subjugation. Just my personal belief.

@mosquitious i don’t think it’s so much cutting off as in a true separation of the individual from the spirit as much as it’s a concious moving away from, more akin to remembering a glimps of a dream you had when you wake up and choosing to not try to remember more and letting it fade away. choosing to turn away from the aspect of spirit, instead personifying the individual-how far does that rabbit hole go until it turns into spirit? thats what im curious about.
I would agree to a degree, but not so much as subjugation, but placement due to the circumstances under which free will provides, as most suitable. Places chosen yes, situations, not so much.
There is a large chaos factor to whom we are born, and we don’t directly decide it for ourselves either.
The incarnation, is a necessity or we would not exist, yet the circumstances to bring forth suitability is largely dependent on the willingness and thereby free will of the parents of birth.
And thereby to call it subjugation, would be incorrect, for subjugation would be forced, the need to exist is thereby both choice and collusion.
For example, had it been that wiser choices were to have been made, and left to those intended to guide (parents), life would have been vastly different than it was.
Just the same, when it was made clear that there had been a reply here through “intuition” and that there was a need to reply, I had a choice, had I replied earlier, I could have continued doing what I was doing, instead, I arrived to reply later when there was a feeling of urgency.

Agreed. The Higher Self saves all knowledge and information one collected throughout different lives and existences within the universe. Some books claim it becomes stronger when the individual supports the collective and weakens if it harms it (through wars, purposeless violence and destruction).
I have experienced that immense suffering opens up the third eye and gives you psychic powers - maybe the universe is indeed righteous and creates justice in one way or another. You can suddenly curse people with just one thought.
This power doesn’t seem to last though.

It’s not so much about the collective, collective consciousness/consensus reality is the hive mind of society, society is built on foundations of lies and indoctrination, false hoods etc. The third eye strengthened on the falsehood is corrupt, and thus weakens. However as you placed in brackets perpetrating purposeless violence and destruction is actually what weakens a truly awakened eye.
Hence the reason society is the way it is and the forcefulness of agendas, peer pressure and attempts at pushing off indoctrination as fact, the more people supporting the falsehood the stronger it supposedly becomes, but weak foundations are weak foundations.
In fact, the man made fallacy of time, is one of the biggest collective consciousness constructs there is, and one that is in constant loop is probably the best example one could give, which causes continuous perpetuation of the same events over and over as basic foundation.
Represents true knowledge, knowledge that for the most part is clouded or challenged by the lies fed to the populace on a constant basis.
Once again true, through immense suffering causes a forced opening, a forced opening isn’t healthy and takes either time to balance and control, or causes for the most part destruction of the individual until they can master it.
The consciousness of the universe, is indeed infallible, a constant evolution of learning and thus balanced creation and destruction, though free will is the key, so therefore “the universe” denies nothing, for it would cease itself to learn.
Being able to curse people with a single thought, once again is a power, with power comes responsibility, the reason it doesn’t seem to last, is because of 2 factors, purposeless usage and also the clouding of the mind.
I believe the higher self is the God you. The version that has completed the great work. Ive heard the self manifest in the physical to experience change but since its outside time and space it will have already done it all so im not sure the reason it continues to reincarnate and re-complete the great work, for fun i guess, or out of boredom. I just know that I do have a higher self and am working on the great work once again. Some say the higher self is the HGA as well I think they are all the same thing to be honest.
