I’ve been charging up a sigil for a while now by visualizing it in black drawing energy from the sun. It was going great for a while, but recently I’ve been having trouble keeping the image still for longer than a couple seconds. Different parts of the sigil will rotate, spin, fall into pieces, and change color, even as I try my best to hold it still. Anybody know what could be causing this? Is it just a quirk of my brain? Could it indicate something of spiritual significance?

That’s normal, and what we usually look for to indicate the sigil has been opened, or activated, when doing the sigil gazing method. My own feeling is that this is actually a physiological effect, an optical illusion, but means you’ve gazed long enough to also get into a light trance state.
So what you are trying to do, seems in conflict with how our bodies actually work. To break the state you can look away and look back, but I think it’s not going to harm the working, you can incorporate it to, say, intend that it means the sigil is now open to charge faster.
