I’m not a locksmith or anything but from what I know, most locks would just become unable to be opened without specialist tools, if you do that.

I guess it would depend on the type of door lock, 'cause if it is just a simple knob lock, breaking the knob will break the lock. It dd in my case, anyway, when I locked myself out of my apartment lol
