I have the North Node in Virgo and the South Node in the Ninth House of Pisces. (But the most interesting thing for me is Mercury in the 9th house and Jupiter in the 8th house, also in Pisces.) In this life, I am supposed to learn stability and build a structured life, but I must not escape into illusions. My chart shows that I undergo many transformations and often feel like I am being thrown from side to side, which makes stability difficult. My goal is to learn to be stable. I’ve been involved in occultism for several years, and while I enjoy it, I recognize that it might relate to my South Node and the potential for escaping into illusions. My magic practice isn’t yielding the results I hoped for, and I’m unsure if it’s the right path for me. I would like to become proficient in magic and share my experiences with others, but I struggle with maintaining stability. Should I fully focus on something more stable in my life instead of continuing my magical practice, or is there a way to reconcile my passion for magic with the need for stability in my life? I’m confused and uncertain about what to do next.
Personally, I think this is psychosomatic.
I honestly think that while there’s broad alignment, the effect of the planets is otherwise dismissable. If you had not known about this you’d find other ways to manage your mental-emotional issues.
You might get some answers, but at the same time, be better off asking about astrology on an astrology forum, there’s some people around here who believe in this but not as many here as on a dedicated forum.
So use magick to gain stability? Magick is a tool, if you’ve been using it in a way that destabilizes you, why not change that? Work with entities that are grounding. Invoke Taurus or something?
I think you misunderstood a bit what I meant. I don’t practice magic consistently — sometimes I get inspired and start, but then I stop, and later I come back again. And that made me start wondering: maybe I’m just playing with magic, not really practicing it deeply?
Then a harder question came up: am I just running away from real-life problems into magic? Is it something I use to hide from the chaos and helplessness I feel in everyday life?
That’s when I turned to astrology to try and understand what’s going on. I have the South Node in Pisces, in the 9th house — which really does point to escaping into dreams, spirituality, and abstract ideas. And the North Node in Virgo says my real path is about learning structure, order, being present, and building something solid in the real world.
And here’s my biggest fear: does this mean the path of magic isn’t for me? That I’ll never go deep into it, because I’m “supposed” to stay grounded and practical? That magic is just an illusion for me, a way to avoid real life?
No I understood you…you’re trying to ask if your astrology chart means you shouldn’t do magic.
I said “no”. Magick is for everyone regardless.
I don’t think the astrology matters. But, if YOU think it’s making you act in a way that ruins your magick, then, you will make that real and true, simply from believe it.
This is you using magick successfully to stop you from doing other magick.
There’s no such thing as “supposed” to anything. I suspect this is a cultural hangover from religions that use this as a control tactic. The simple fact that you are drawn to it means it’s already for you.
No, like I said, magick is a tool, how you apply the tool is up to you.
Don’t go blaming external and minor influences, if you awnt it, go for it, where there’s a will there’s a way.
Look up “procrastination”, “fear of failure”, and “ADHD” on here - there are many posts from people like you, including me, who know they’d be further along in development if we put more time into it and more consistency. This is normal. Life happens and we don’t always ergiment it around magick.
What I do is never consider I have given up, or stopped, I will get and finish some working over years, slowly spiraling into than as I develop, and that’s ok. There’s no need to beat yourself up for not doing things in the same way as others.
Your magick is already working when you do it, so if this little amount of work has already got you results, why would you just give it up? You get out what you put in, imo.
I’d say, relax, let yourself have some leeway and do what you want to do. If that means one working a year, so what? That’s what you want to do, and there’s no rule that says that’s wrong.
you know you’re right. i’m looking for excuses to do nothing and go with the flow. and believe that someone has decided for me what’s best for me. i should decide what’s good for me, not someone else deciding for me. but i still wonder how much astrology influences us? i know that planets and their aspects influence, but still?
