There are a few household spirits, most known is Domowik or Domowy also Domovy, you can translate it as household lord. It was believed they are long death progenitors, and household members should left them the food scraps to obtain his favor. Also they can take a shape of a cat, dog, snake or rat, but commonly they appear as a little old man with long beard
