Well it’s only been in the last 100-ish yeas in the West since the industrial evolution and the rise of “science” that magick got a bad rap. Before that all cultures lived side by side with magick as a normal thing.
I thing there were really good spiritual practices that were healthy that got put to the side because of this, including a death rites that helped the deceased cross healthily and not become a ghost. “Modern” society doesn’t believe in ghosts now so these people are left to fend for themselves, and there’s not protections added for the living to avoid attracting them back or to help them grieve.
I personally also keep iron under my bed as part of my wards, permanently. It disrupts the electromagnetic energies of spirits so they don’t bother me when I sleep. Also called a “ward” in the west, but this one is more magnetic and just works without having to do anything intentional.
