I respect your opinion, but fail to see how this is divisive? Itâs a historical fact that governments, both liberal and conservative in the US were involved in it. This ties into a lot of what transpires on this forum, that paper is related to the both the energetic and psychological models of magic. Itâs also common knowledge that the CIA and NSA were infiltrating cults in those days. Michael Aquino co-authored âFrom PSYOP to Mindwarâ.
But if you insist I wonât mention governments.

Not my opinion, just a reminder of the rules so that the topic is not hampered by them.
I am all over this stuff like a cheap suit personally, and agree with most of the points raised.
However, we do have this rule and as I explained in that topic (about 3rd or something post in) I am going to honourably enforce it, because it is a relatively small issue and was not worth resigning over.

In my opinion, no. Being mentally ill and diving headlong into magick is not a combo iâd want to do if my mind is fragile and full of pain. If anything goes wrong, you wonât have the mental fortitude or strength to fix those problems. Professional help should always come first. Then you can even consider magick. But always remember if you decided to go through with it, you should stay balanced and well. Iâve seen too many mages fall into the pits because of mental illness.
OK since I have first-hand knowledge about this, Iâll write something here.
Because I personally know a lot of schizophrenics and for me for 75% schizophrenia is equal with shamanism and a lot of times equals to magical talent. Look for the chaos magicians they are striving to attain altered states that come naturally to schizophrenicâs mind. This is just different labelling in Indian cultures they will become shamans, talking to spirits, etc etc. now they are labelled madmen, as post-Enlightement Europe no longer officaly believes in spiritism.
But you are aware that all magic and spirituality can be labelled as schizophrenia (and actually is done so by âspecialistsâ)?

My brother and I had the same experiences as children, where we saw things and experienced things together. Later they used this too as an argument for his mental illness. As fraternal twins, I would have a 15% chance of developing schizophrenia too. I donât, I function as society expects of me. Function what a weird word anyway to use on humans. Machines have a function. But if I was to tell my therapist that I shared the same experiences as him and that often my ears will start ringing when spirits reach out to me. I am sure, very sure⌠she would see this as a sign of mental illness.

Schizophrenia is interesting. Hallucinations are also interesting: theyâre just a different type of consciousness from the one we call ânormal realityâ. I donât think itâs because of anything in the âpastâ because time/space is an illusion of consciousness. Itâs more about what the state of consciousness in the present isâthatâs what itâs about. Exactly why some people tap into this vibration I donât know but it is also one aspect of Infinite Being and can be shifted with the right approach. Yes, spirituality and magick can help but Iâd say they need to first stabilise using meditation, generally positive thought, self-knowledge etc. Rituals can sometimes make the shit seem that much more pronounced.

I would (and have) very strongly advised people with mental health issues to stay as far the fuck away from magick as possible.
That issue is better handled by psychiatrists and other medical doctors who can administer drugs or recommend surgery.
Magick can be highly destabilizing at the best of times.
Guard your mental health with your life.

doctors cant help me ive been to them, ive had my neck snapped in the astral by a devil, been pulled in a hell realm, had hordes of demons after me, i am in constant pain and drinking helps sadly
