Throughout my left hand path experimential learning process , I’ve always encountered logistical issues (as to where perform rites and rituals ) …
My family household is forbidden for this given religious differences and for their safety reasons.
Any public parks etc and so forth are too public for practice as well.
This gives a very chained, closeted feeling to me as practitioner.
I’ve contemplated going to an abandoned building (haunted hospital ) and doing a monthly ritual there as it’s dark and isolated, but still contemplating given extra protection might be necessary especially in a "haunted " environment.
Anyhow , did any of you have struggles with this exact same thing ? And if yes , how to overcome either the emotions , or the logistics. Also some small mindset shifts can help .
(P.S Those that have a forest / desert as a backyard , yall are super blessed )
When I first started I was living at home and couldn’t really set up a space. I did have a private room so I could do things but I couldn’t have a set up. At that time I did worked mostly with sigils and servitors. These were safe for the others in the home and my equipment was simple office supplies so no one got suspicious. I did this until I manifested the space necessary.
Recently I lost access to my work space and was couch surfing. For this time I worked with those simplified magick books (Gallery of magick and the like). I would wait until through sheer coincidence I was alone or I locked myself in the bathroom. This time around I had a very clear idea of the workspace I needed for my practice. Slowly but surely I manifested a new workspace.
So my suggestion is don’t wait to start practicing, do what you can now and over time you can manifest the space you need.

And regarding the haunted building thing I might want to try . Do you think it’s a good / bad idea ?
If one does attempt evocation in there, which major protection practices need to be installed prior such an event ? Would an exorcism/banishing script be necessary for afterwards? ( Ref : Kingdoms of Flame)
I think it depends on what you’re trying to do, does the space correspond to your workings. I don’t think it is particularly dangerous so it is up to you to figure out.
I think your normal protection practice will be fine if you have one. Apart from that I’d suggest two things.
One, physical safety. If this is an abandoned place there could be dangers besides the spiritual, inspect the place and note any potential hazards.
Two, be nice to the spirits. Spirits are lot less dangerous when you befriend them. In Jason Miller’s book consorting with spirits he gives a spirit feast ritual, do that or something similar.
That’s up to you. You could do one as you leave to make sure nothing follows you home.
You may want to think this out a little. Different sites hold different types of energy because of things like events. Then there are ley lines… as well as Spirits of people who may of died or hold an energy in the health sector you probably do not want to be a part of the ritual. It really depends on what you are doing, but you would probably need to heavily filter, set of wards, cleanse the space, etc.
Was thinking of casting circle with black salt , setting up the triangle for evocation. As well as concentrating some Oni Mask beads to be for protection. Then saying an exorcism afterwards .

My first space was in my bedroom. I think I was 14. It was portable. It carried me through to my first marriage. Since then I don’t need any set space. I just decide.
What I did back then was sewed a sort of altar cloth. I sewed the rectangle. I then embroidered the designs I wanted onto it. You automatically put energy into anything you work on, so to concentrate and do it that way made me a pretty powerful little portable space. It worked well up until the time I managed to protect my stepdaughter (finally). Then it burned literally halfway across, as if it’s job was done.
This may not work for everyone, but when you’re having trouble finding a safe space you won’t get arrested for trespassing for it can be a start.
