Quick & Easy methods to perform a House Blessing Spell or Ritual

Anybody have any relatively quick and easy to preform house blessing spells or rituals to consecrate a new living space so that prosperity, protection, love, happiness, harmony, peace etc… flow into and stay in the home?

I already have some “peaceful home” incense I plan to use, but other then that, I don’t have any ideas other than general cleaning to do it.

Jason Miller’s book Reversal and Protection Magick has some great ideas for bringing in good stuff and removing the bad from your home. Besides regular banishing, there are herbs that can be added to floor washes to attract good health, prosperity, etc, as part of your regular cleaning.

I personally use smudging for this.

Instructions for a basic and easy “smudging” to clear unwanted energy from your room or house. Use wormwood if in the UK or most parts of Europe as it’s native there, Or white sage if you’re in North America as that’s what’s native there. You can also use Mugwort, sandalwood or patchouli… or something similar that repels negativity, there are options. What you do, is: carry the burning incense around the house. Open your heart and feel love, then from your heart, send out that love as white light with the incense smoke as you waft it into every corner of the house. With each wave of your hand you see all unwanted energy from every nook and cranny leaving your house, including this entity. Do this over your entire house for each corner of each room, in cupboards and under the stairs. When finished, love your house and how clean it is, thank it for it’s service protecting you and tell it you are taking care of it. Ask the house itself to get and keep unhealthy entities out.

And if you can’t use smoke use white-golden light from your heart filled with joy and love. or both at the same time.

Well that’s what my house blessing incense is for, but I also thought about using either frankincense or myrrh, since that’s relativity abundant everywhere. I don’t want to set off the fire alarms though so I don’t wanna go that crazy. The other option I might try is just boiling various herbs and fruits to get more or less the same effect… that probably won’t reach the whole house… but it does smell better lol!

You can also use consecrated (enchanted) water, and flick it from the tips of your fingers around as well.

make consecrated water by having water in a bowl, add salt, and then place your hands over it - visualise all unwanted energy being sent into the Earth, then visualize adding the energy of your own choosing, like love and joy and health etc., and use that instead of heart energy or incense.

Interesting… have you tried this method yourself and used it? What were the results if you did?

I tried making my own floor wash (which is kinda similar) once and mopped the whole kitchen with it, let things dry, then burned the peaceful home incense. The only thing I noticed was that energy in the kitchen felt a bit different after that. Lighter or more charged if that makes sense. I’m not sure if it really helped though lol.

The same as for smudging with smoke. I do this when I’m out of white sage.
