Question about C. Kendalls Challenge of Darkness

Since I did not want to necro the original post t to ask this question, I was wondering, for the second challenge where you burn the symbols and a piece of you hair in the flame of the black candle, can I just use a electric candle and visualize the flame consuming it? Because I can’t use real candles.

In theory, it’s possible, but my feeling for this working is you might got get what you want. The fire is a gate at takes the essence of the offering the other side. A better substitute gate might be water…? - e.g. try using a cup of water, enchant it as a gate to spirit and drop the hair in that during ritual.
