Make sure to work on your Astral senses and not just entering trance states
You see your astral senses are your senses but on a spiritual level, you see we have multiple bodies technically an infinite amount but there are 5 main bodies of focus
The Etheric (Subtle energies)
The Mental (your mind)
The Emotional (your emotions)
The Astral (your 4th-dimensional body your physical body being 3 dimensional)
The Spiritual body (5th dimensional body meaning beyond the concept of time, duality etc.)

It may sound hard to enter a trance willingly but it isn’t we do it all the time.

Here are two things I do to enter Theta gamma state
Stare at a blank wall (Yes I’m serious) Stare at a blank wall with nothing to distract you within your vision try not to blink but do so if you have to.
After a while, you will get visual distortions these distortions vary person to person but you will get something
You will then be in the Theta Gamma in which you will begin to call forth the spirit.
Next is simply put staring at a candle flame closely but at a distance where you do not harm your eyes.
And as I said before you will begin to get visual distortions.

Call the spirit while being in the TGS (theta gamma state) and if you keep getting deeper into the state you might enter the Cross roads which is when the spirit is inside and outside of you where communication is maximized

The sigil of a spirit is like their signature
And when the sigil is activated (via many ways) It will bridge an energetic connection between you and the spirit.
If the spirit does not have a sigil you can create a sigil for that spirit through numerology or Alphabet wheels.
Or the spirit can give you a sigil in rarer casees
