Hello there, after seeing some threads about petition to the spirit by invoking it I even seen one recently about petition without evoking the spirit yet .
But I just want somebody here to evaluate whether I have created a right formula for making an invocation for petition here’s what I prefer to do:
Is it a right basic formula or I have created something wrong about here ?
In between 2 and 3, you could ask for a sign of presence, or perhaps use a pendulum to ask if the entity is around if you can’t sense it another way.
Then after reading your petition and signing it, again ask if it was heard and if the entity accepts.
Maybe it’s just me, but I like to get some form of agreement so I don’t feel I’m just talking to myself.
Yes, after stage 2 do as Maul suggested its a great way to remove doubt for a practitioner.
Yes this looks good to me! I’d say, as part of the formula, remember after chanting the enn to call the spirit by name.
What if I haven’t notice any presence yet because I don’t have any clairvoyant ability or astral sensea does the spirit will be heard my petition despite of not having a spiritual vision ?
Yes. I don’t sense spirits all the time, most magicians on here don’t as well, yet the spirits have heard me, and that becomes very clear with results from calling on them.
You don’t need to see or hear them for them to see and hear you. Your spirit reaches out to them, and the beings you call on hear you and arrive to you.
If making a petition to any spirit did you invoke them like chanting the enn 5 times even though doesnt necessarily have to confirm its presence?
I haven’t worked with demons much in the past. I’ve only worked with one, and when I did, I didn’t use any enn. Many don’t use any enns while calling demons, and this without issue. Enns also don’t call the demon to you, it changes the spiritual atmosphere of the room to something appropriate for the demon, so that their presence can come more strongly into it.
In any case, I invoke spirits and give my petition without any confirmation of their presence, and I can’t sat this has never been an issue. It simply helps some feel more at peace or ensure that the spirit is present to recieve a sign of presence, but it is not necessary and in almost all cases the spirit does hear you if you call out to them intently.
To be honest, I used to spend a lot of time in what may be Step 0 - thinking of my intent to contact the entity. Thos DOES have benefits, but isn’t essential. It can help the other steps happen, until you get the hang of the rest of it.
While it may be obvious, I would start calling at the enn. I don’t see it listed. While the enn CAN call the entity, it’s better to do a more formal ask and ask it to come. The Enn attunes you, but is NOT the same as calling, if that doesn’t happen ‘naturally’ and it never has for me, unless tjey were looking to work with me ‘yesterday’. Maybe for others, but that isn’t the same thing as calling them to you. One comes from a place of at least personal power of sorts, the other, passive.
