Obeah Man & Family - Dream

Ancestral entities have been coming around me more as I get older. Here’s something that happened recently.

I have been asking (not praying just suggesting openness) for my African ancestors or spirit guides to reconnect with me. For context, my family has been away from the continent for many generations, and we are now a new race. Until now, I’ve only had experience with my European guides, that I’m aware of.

I had a dream that made me call everyone in my family, actually, it brought us back together. But this post isn’t about my dream, it’s about my Mom’s, because after she spoke, she said that the Obeah man made me talk to her.

Apparently she dreamt that she was in my house standing with him. I came in through the front door and saw them. She said he had tall hair and a long beard and was looking at me. As I came into the house, I asked her what she was doing there. She left and went to wait for me in a golden bathroom.

I stayed with the Obeah man, and she doesn’t know what we discussed.

I then went to the bathroom and my mom talked to and hugged me. She was so happy.

I’d never heard of the Obeah Man before, but I was so excited because my European heritage has come to me spiritually, but never African.

She said she had this dream after meeting a kind Jamaican woman early, whom she hugged.

Does anyone know about Obeah Man, can it attach from a person closer to heritage, etc.? Does he come if invited?

Dream interpretations also welcome.

Dreams are usually a bunch of things all mixed together:

What part of each dream is what if for you to decide, really, as it’s not just the visuals that count, but more, how you FELT and what intuition you have about it. Since most people never post those things bt only what they saw, our information is incomplete and I would not trust the answers, but sometimes a flash of insight, or the right question can help anyway.

So,

then…

This sounds like a wish-fulfillment dream.

Unclear what this means. Are you saying that her dream of you and Obeah Man gave her the impulse to come and tell you about it in real life?

Did she know you have been calling the ancestors?

If she already knew of your efforts to make contact, this could also be a wish fulfillment dream. But in any case, I would call this an invitation from Obeah Man to reach out.

I say this because dreams or no, just your desire to reach out is also an invitation, as you may not have that desire if they were not already calling to you.

But now you know this Obeah Man could be the key to beginning that contact. Perhaps he is one of your ancestors. Since your mother has has seen him, you have a connection through her and he is aware and waiting for you to call, so you can evoke him, or use shamanic journeying to go to where he is, to meet him and talk.

I suggest you get into meditation, call to mind all that you know about him, picture your mother’s dream scene and go into the dream and ask the man who he is and what he wants.

I don’t talk to my mom much, but I called her due to my own dream. Then, she told me about her dream and said she thought it was the Obeah man that made me talk to her. She doesn’t know that I have been waiting for the African ancestors. And I never heard about the Obeah man until she told me about this so yes, maybe they prompted me first and it just manifested in me as a desire, but went to my Mom first.

I will try mediate and try to get to know him better, thanks!

My own dream was very alarming. But it involved a conversation with my dad whose deceased, and I woke up and immediately called everyone in my family to tell them. That was the reunion point before my Mom told me her Obeah man dream.

I would say usually, they are a bunch of things mixed together. But some people are good dream interpreters, even if it’s only because they just have an innate ability to interpret symbolism. Some people also have psychic discernment.

Dream interpretation books or websites can also be a waste of time, but not in all cases…Although I bought a dream book recently from the 1930s and I was so excited about what I’d find in it. It was mostly a bunch of common thoughts that just mirrored the times. (Someone parroting another person’s ideas) Nonsense, really.

Yes I mention this in the other dream thread you were on yesterday - UPG is still UPG, and is never sensible to take as gospel, but some people you might look more seriously into what they say than others, put it that way.

Sure but whose symbolism? Symbols are different person to person and heavily reliant on background life experiences, leaning and culture. It’s not helpful for them to be right about what the dream means to THEM, instead of you. That’s why only you can really say or sure, because only you know who you are at your core.

I agree. Even a broken clock is right twice a day
