Hello, I am determined to work with Goetic spirits and am currently conducting research. This place is like a school; thank you for the information you share.

However, I have some questions; please help me so that I can proceed correctly.

1 They fulfill our requests, but what do they want in return? I’ve browsed the forum extensively but haven’t found the answer to this.

2 Is it mandatory to set up an altar for the summoning ritual involving a seal?

3 If our astral senses are not sufficiently developed, will we encounter problems during the ritual? Or can we still perform a successful ritual?

4 Assuming Franz Bardon’s exercises and other meditation practices are performed regularly, when is a person ready for the first ritual? How do I prepare myself? How can I tell if I am ready?

Once I step into this world, I know I will commit to it consistently. That is why I want to approach it cautiously. Please share your advice.

It varies and depends on who you ask-in demonolatry, usually a space on your altar, in demonology abd traditional Solomonic magick, nothing is needed to be provided in return but offerings can be given if you decide to.

Again it depends on what you mean by altar. If you go by traditional, you need to have the circle of Solomon and the triangle of Solomon as well as a black mirror and the seal should be placed where the mirror is located.

Personally I use a semi-traditional approach, I burn the sigils after the operation is done. I don’t ask for material things, I seek questions about the self. “Know thyself” then do what thou wilt.

No the rituals will still be successful but you may draw parasites in as they get drawn into your energy and try to hijack the connection and pretend to be the entity you summoned. In fact some of them you have to ask if they are who they say they are and they will not deny it. Like Asmoday you have to ask “thou art Asmoday?” And he will not deny it

This is where the term “preparatory immersion” is used. Immerse yourself in the ideas behind the entity you’re summoning. Through sound, scent and sight.

Personally I follow Crawleys method in the lesser key of solomon as opposed to the newer methods out there people talk about with authors like Corwin Hargrove. I find that it has the most safeguards in place if you follow all the steps accordingly.

Gratitude goes a long way. It also feeds into the working under he law of Assumption. Nothing else is necessary unless you follow a religion or doctrine that dictates your actions for you.

No - nothing in the sigil instructions mentions an alter. Altasr are a completely different tool, for a different purpose. No need to over-complicate a simple thing.

Maybe. This is why you cleanse and banish before you start.

Doing magick lights you up on the astral, and you attract what you put out… if you are doing curses, you attract nasty energy, if you are healing or doing positive work, you attract positivity.

I do not really know, in the big general picture, they seem to me like allies wanting to assist, so they are not coming as parasites wanting to take from you, which can give that feeling of ´ but what they are gaining ´? I do not know the deep truth of this. But you can do convenants.

Sometimes they may even ask for something, and then the person is like, but why they asked for this what will they gain from it ? It is even possible that they accept an offering of your own improvement which is crazy,

Also some beings are of extreme benevolence they can step in and help someone even if he did not ask for it, and sometimes without even revealing who they are.. so the person cannot even give something back, it happens to people who are not even magicians and experience this for example, i do not understand this, if you want my personal opinion, i believe many beings ´take sides’, they watch over people and want to be with some more than others, and through meditation and refining yourself, you are more and more likely to have allies, or generally to be more taken care of by the spiritual beings, they have opinions they are not like ´bots’,

Concerning what they like, this changes from a being to another they do have preferences, but they do express that they like certain things and may dislike certain things, you will know more and more when you experience,

My assumption is the primary thing is your own improvement and your own dedication and refining yourself, if you for example stop all the work and just burn incense its ´empty’, and i do not think the beings will like that, the foundation of all this is YOU.

they generally like to be honored, writing a Poem for them, or expressing gratitude, or a candle or beautiful incense or beautiful altar, or just putting some effort into arrangement of your room before you summon like what you would do if someone will enter the room ( this can also help you mentally, especially in feeling the power of what you are doing and respecting your own work.) , talking with them in good way,

taking a shower before a ritual or generally having good hygiene, wearing clean clothes before the ritual, they also like to see you improve and seing that you are consistent in your meditations etc.. this is my opinion i can be wrong. I also do not mean you should do all of those at once, what i do recurrently is trying to have room in order & candle & incense & Gratitude.

Poetry and drawings sometimes.

I sometimes do Kneel before them too, or bow ( with some of them not all of them, the ones i love the most). Since some are too Goated and too Noble no amount of gratitude feels enough to me, and they too wonderful and they have ´no ego ´ that i do not mind bowing for them. Some will be against this. This is why the path is very personal.

You need to try things and see for yourself, also you can ask them, they can give signs etc..

Especially with questions that seems ´there are no answers’ they can help guide you towards what you need to know. In my opinion, there is a Head of Spiritual Advancement, Satan if we view this from Demons perspective, or Divinity or Angels or many ´Heads’, those High Ranked Beings, or generally those High Powers,

if they take sides with you, they have ways of making you get answers even to questions you think ´no one answered’. They are the true ´Guru ´ in my opinion. Not necessarily giving you direct answers, but people can appear in your life etc..

But there is also a technical part in the path and a practical one, so for me, there should be balance between the devotional way of viewing all this, and the practical technical part. I do not agree with those who do only hymns, and i do not agree with the ones who think it is all mental, i agree with both in same time.

You can have good results or even very potent results in magic without even seing or hearing the being, it is not a requirement for workings to work, it can be important in certain cases like if you want to have a conversation with the being or if you want to have a serious convenant etc.. many techniques are done by the way with your own power without presence of a being..

My current theory (treat it with a grain of salt, because it’s pretty much UPG based on one sentence) is that it’s how they get influence. Since all humans are effectively part of God, and most of them don’t like the idea of supernatural things meddling, demons can’t do much in Assiah (the world of matter) unless they’re performing God’s will — that is, yours.

Thank you very much for your reply; it was enlightening, and I intend to reflect on it at length and draw my own conclusions. However, I simply cannot get a clear answer to my question. What might they be asking for? For instance, what have they asked of you in your past experiences?

I think i got the confusion, so you do not believe that they can assist you and you give an offering ( gift ), you want instead to ´pay’ them right?

No, I believe they exist. I’m not talking about a deal. I’m just curious what kind of things they might ask of us.

I do not like to frame it that way, because what you are talking about is a convenant,

But in general workings you are not doing covenants in my opinion,

So especially in the start you instead see things the Beings do take as offerings and things they do like you to do and reward you for it, also things that make you generally more ´favored’ in the spiritual realm.

They do like advancement and consistency in practice for example, they do like offering poetry candles etc.. or you stopping a bad habit etc.. you can offer your own advancement.

you need to try and see from your own experience, and beings have different opinions, so you cannot really know exactly, i explained my perspective in my previous reply.

Thank you very much for your reply; I’m almost done with my research, but I have one last question. Is the communication constant, or do we initiate contact whenever we want? Living with a voice in one’s head that never goes quiet would be chaotic :)can we control this?

Most people do it this way. You just do an evocation, ask your question, then close out the ritual giving license to depart and you’re done.

It’s unlikely you will sense anything at first. They always come, but it’s very subtle for most people. This is why we have so many tutorials for staff sense development - people mistake their inability to sense for nothing happening.

You call, you visualize the problem and then it resolving and the successful outcome, you don’t need offerings or terms, you close. They are not merchants and payment for services is not a thing. It’s not like that.

You CAN set up a vessel or talisman for more prolonged contact. But most people don’t do that

A pact (sat is using a translator, we usually call covenants “pacts”) is optional and not recommended until or unless you have already developed a relationship with an entity and you both agreed you want one and what the terms are.

If you find you are highly telepathic, so that thinking of the entity calls it enough that you can hear it and talk outside ritual, and in this case you can simply set boundaries telling the spirit not to talk to you at certain times, or outside ritual.
