I find meat or fruit can work just as well in a pinch. Though I’ve also had good results with blood! I think it works more because it’s an all purpose taglock that ties you to any working, no matter which practice you are involve in. There’s so little room for doubt when the spirit can see who and what is communicating with them. I suspect they may even be able to sense our needs and stuff like that, from the energy in blood. It’s so individual.
