Banishment in general would be a good skill to master.
Is the screen shattered or just won’t turn on? I ask because there are youtube videos to trouble shoot a screen that won’t turn on depending on the model of the computer that you can try out. Understanding what the problem may be could help things go smoother with your stepmom if the computer needs to be maintenced manually (such as a loose display cord within the laptop).
