Nowadays, I feel incredibly disconnected from everything around me. I struggle to find words to describe it, but it feels as though I have lost interest in everything. Activities that I used to love, such as reading books and playing video games, no longer hold any appeal for me. Initially, I thought it might be a health issue, but I exercise regularly and practice qigong every day. Now, I suspect that the problem lies in my excessive practice of the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram (LBRP), as I have been performing it three times a day. What are your thoughts? Could it be related to my health or is it possibly a result of my intense magical practice?
Based on your other posts you are under massive amounts of stress, and that will do this to you.
Your business has issues, you cat died, your family is at odds with each other, you’re worried about being homeless, AND you have an intense magickal practice, all impacting your survival responses and putting your systems into fight or flight for so long it can negatively affect your immune system, especially overtax your adrenals and other hormones, causing you to produce unwanted chemical that are great for short term, but harmful long term. And our hormones pretty much drive our desires and hence our personalities.
So yes it’s very much related to health. It’s just conjecture but you are under way too much stress and your system it begging you to let up, but naturally diminishing your motivation to get more involved.
Stress is called the silent killer as it’s linked to a myriad of illnesses. For the thoings you can’t unbirden there are tools to help you manage it.
And yes I think a thrice daily LBRP at a time like this when you are already stressed by so many other things is yet another source of stress that is going to make it worse.
There’s a point where stress can be “hormetic”, i.e., cause beneficial adaptive change, but too much is a killer.
I would suggest getting some of these sources of stress resolved or unburdened, which ones you keep, your approach and which ones you cut out would be your decision. Then your body should stop trying to force you to dial it down.
Thank you for replying. You are right, I am currently under a lot of stress. Regarding my magical practice, I will not abandon it because if I do, everything I have will be lost and fall apart. I’m sure you understand that feeling. As for the tool I use, it’s the Inner Smile Meditation from the Daoist tradition, and it has helped me tremendously. Huberman’s solutions may not be suitable for me, although I have used his physiological techniques for quick relief in stressful moments.
I would cut back on the LBRP and only do it twice a day instead of three. That would free you up for some rest in between.
Should I incorporate the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram (LIRP) into my practice? I haven’t dedicated as much time to that particular practice compared to the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram (LBRP)
If you want to, you could do the Lesser Invoking Ritual in the morning, and the Lesser Banishing in the evening.
The LBRP banishes away unwanted energy, but has the ironic side effect of attracting energies. The same with the LIRP invoking the wanted elemental energy and attracting unwanted energies. The LBRP and LIRP only amplify the energy that you already have.
Stress and worry weakens yoiur aura. You need to concentrate on keeping your energy field (aura) as strong as possible. Along with @Mulberry advised, in mediation, try to transmute your emotions into positive ones. Visualize your aura absorbing your negative emotions converting them into positive energy.
