Lower Dan Tian curiosity

When starting Draconian Ritual Book, and raising Tiamat’s energy, I would try to pull as much in during an inhale as I could, filling my aura like a balloon, and then compress it down into “me” during an exhale. I don’t recall accurately atm, but I think I was doing it on instinct, not the book’s directions, but I later read Mulberry describing the same process, so I figured I was good.

Over time, I could draw more in, and compress more times, until I felt full. Then I read about the lower Dan Tian energy storage from Robert Bruce (New Energy ways), and I tried compressing the energy specifically into that. It feels like a bottomless pit, never filling. Some of the online sources say that it’s a connection to source energy, and others say it’s a storage. Right now it feels like the connection to source, as what I collect and put there seems to just disappear.

Tonight I ordered The Root of Chinese Qigong, Jwing-Ming, for understanding and insight (thanks @Mulberry ).

Am I doing it wrong? lol. Is the storage that vast, and my level is that low? My concern is that I’m wasting time and effort moving energy and getting no benefit, like getting a bucket of water from a lake, and then dumping it back into the lake.

Sounds like you’re doing fine  It can feel like that for me sometimes even after doing it for years. And then on other days I feel like I’m able to draw and move more energy and it actually fills.

It just might need a bit more relaxing into your being to feel it and move the qi easier. It’s almost like you just have it idly watch it moving, and the less effort you put in but the more certainty, the more it moves.

Thank you for the reassurance and guidance. I was putting significant effort into the compression, during the hold before the exhale, like I was compressing air. lol. Using one’s will in the non-physical is very different, and a little hard to wrap my head around after decades of being physical.

Certainty. Very useful perspective.
