Hmmmm… Since it’s said that becoming a SW requires killing a loved one, I’d say I pass lol however, shapeshifting have always fascinated me, as I’m sure it did many people too
However there are so many different types around the world. If I had to pic, I believe I’d chose to be a Nahual - it’s a kind of mesoamerican sorcerer who can shapeshift into theie spirit, or totem animal of sort and unlike Skinwalkers of north American folklore, they can be good or evil and depends on the individual  It’s all just so interesting

Skinwalkers were shamans gone bad. They were humans who chose to follow “the Witchery way “;they had to perform very dark practices to become skinwalkers - including killing a close family member.

That’s both scary and incredible.

A William R. Wraith book actual says how to become a vampire, but I promise you it’s probably different from what most people have read. Theirs this powerful demon who I forgot the name, but I personally like to title him or whatever it is, as the god of Vampires. A ritual or deal thing with it happens, and it has one of its servitors fuse with you. You have control but on some occasions the servitor, tend to seduce to become more movie vampire in personality.

Now the reason why I believe this is a true vampire ritual, is because the books states that once the servitor is merged with you, you actually have all the powers in the original bram stokers dracula book, except for wall crawling, controlling the weather, and I believe mind control but I could be wrong. I’ve heard only once of someone who’s done the ritual and said that his sister in another room cut herself bleeding, and everything blacked out for him, it wasn’t until his sister told him what happened… he attacked her.

Honestly you might gain great power over mere mortals in the physical world, but I rather not want to find out what I ow the demon.

Except this was complete fiction, there was never a human with these “abilities” in the first place? Neither is this the original,

Bram Stoker combines the folklore about Romanian revenants with the story of Vlad Dracul, the Transylvanian war lord. The whole thing is made up from older sources.

The revenants lore comes from diseases like tuberculosis, which waste you away and is highly infectious, and a lack of understanding of what diseases are, how decomposition works and the unfortunate history of people in comas being buried alive occasionally.

Wraith in his book states the operation is permanent and takes several years, by the way.

Not a single person talking about this book on this forum had had the tiniest amount of success with it. They all abandon it.

I’ve read it and it contradicts simple energy working principles. I honestly think it’s basically a LARP, as is most of this thread.

The only cryptid of this ilk that has open questions is the wendigo, and even then the evidence is incredibly poor and mostly a lot of talk and fear mongering.

I’ve since met a self-styled wendigo in a music dream. He somehow knew I’d been researching them. His goal was to put on fancy aires, scare me, and convince me he was real.
Such ego is pure human, onviously - fora’s anything but a human care about what others think of them?

However, he looked great, classic cartoon-level stinking creature compete with rotting flesh and exposed ribcage, no heart beating in it, such a thing cannot be alive in the physical, it’s astral-only, and it was not a shapeshifter, it was a person taking this form in the astral… he wasn’t an animal or pretending to be one. It amused me that for a dude who thinks that much of himself he had no dick :joy:

Don’t get me wrong he was a nasty piece of work, all psycho no humanity left. He explained that being a wendigo is about attitude, what you’re willing to do, and having paranormal abilities to work with. They’re witches for sure… really fucking dumb ones. None of that is nectar to get results, it’s all a glut of over emotional glurge, people stuck in a cult like control system living a dogma.

I have nothing but sorrow and complete contempt for such broken beings. This one had no idea who he even was any more. He’s going nowhere in his spirtual journey and dragging others into stagnation and dissolution with him.

It can hapoen that spirits lose ground, and increase of ascending, getting more skilled and more aware, decend into idiocy and forget they were even human, lose the ability to connect and understand their path in the universe. Spirits, like ours, live for billions of years, eventually learning so much they become as gods, wise and competent… Not so those who get lost like this, become lesser entities and eventually return to the tao, having failed as soirits. It happens to some ghosts too, the ones that never move on, they fade and die the permanent death.

Moral of the story? Do not get attached to your skin. It’s not who you are.

That’s not at all what I thought a response would be but that was actually cool what you told me.

BUT! what caught my interest in the book are two thing. One is the servitor merging with a human part, how does that work?

Two is the dark energy, dark matter part. Ashera goddess videos on dark energy are great and enlightening. But what the books I have says. Makes me want to study once, I earn my Wizards Bachlers degree😁

The part where it mentions that it’s the dark energy that’s the true source of power for all shapeshifters, definetly changed MY perspective.

That’s a kind of invocation, which is like a mild possession, one where ideally you keep both control and full awareness. Invocation is done to take on the abilities and energy traits of the invoked entity. It is a method found in the Ancient Egyptian Pyramid Texts, where the deceased was taught to invoke deities like Osiris at each step in the afterlife journey to help than get through it intact.

The funny thing here, is that all humans can do energy working, AND get energy from food, sleep and the cosmos, as well as other humans, at ANY time. You don’t need a servitor to do that, you could do it right now.

So, it made him a liability to himself and others and this is supposed to be a good thing? This is stupid, you get that, right?

Humans can’t even drink more than a cup or so of blood - the iron content is too high and that causes nausea and vomiting. Same as taking iron or zinc supplements on an empty stomach.

You’re still going to be a “mere mortal” in any case. Only now a mortal with delusions of grandeur and weird neuroses that make you attack your family.

If you want to learn energy working, learn energy working, and you can use those skills to take energy from ANYTHING you like, when you like, in the middle of nowhere or in a crowd, doesn’t matter. Anything else is a subset of those skills, and in this case a handicap disguised as being edgy and a prison sentence waiting to happen.

Believe me I have no intention in becoming what that guy became. If I want to gain those powered I’ll follow the more building my own power, rather than asking for power from a higher being. Don’t trust them.
Probably never will.

Seriously sure the dude might have become superhuman, but he was practically a parasite first!
