No, it is not obligatory unless you are doing full traditional Solomonic ritual.

They should if you are following instructions in a book that require them. Are you?
These are for summoning Goetia demons in Key of solomon and it takes a lot of effort to make them, is it necessary to make them or they can be summoned without them?
If you are following the Lesser key of Solomon, yes it’s necessary.
If you don’t like the complexity of the techniques in this book though, use a different book.
Try a book like Goetia Pathworking by Corwin Hargrove, that’s about as simple as summoning can get.
As I said, if you are following the strict Solomonic tradition, then yes. However, there are a lot of more modern methods that do not require those tools.
