No, you don’t have to imagine the result or do emotional transmutation if you are opening a spirit seal. That is only for the Gallery of Magick method, which uses their proprietary sigils
This is the basic technique for opening a spirit seal:
Open Lucifer’s seal, chant his enn or use EA’s Conjuration to Summon Forth, and, when you get a sense of his presence, ask him to consecrate the ring and fill it with his energy. Then place the ring on the seal and leave it there for a while. If you can’t see or hear spirits yet, close your eyes and clear your thoughts and you might get a feeling that it is done. Then you can thank Lucifer, and close the ritual. You don’t have to burn the seal since it is closed down once the ritual is over.
That is only for seals that have no direction. A pendant or ring that is consecrated with the energy of a specific spirit is completely different. You want the spirit’s energy to flow into your life. That’s why you consecrate the item to begin with.
