Because I have seen the importance of change in my life, my personality and the things I do are without me knowing it full of change, I always thought that change and logic can’t coexist because of the stigmatism of change = chaos given by people who fear change maybe Loki is thus a god of chaos and trickery also by people that fear change
Every occult system is about self development and change. Are you looking for something specific?
Something where it is the focal point like minimal 80% of the system
Initiation into Hermetics. It is one of, if not the, most complete magical training system ever written. It covers psychological change through the technique of the white and black mirrors and mind control (meditation, and thought stopping), physical through daily calisthenics of your choosing, directed intention and focused will through the charging of food and drink, breath control through pore breathing, and that is all before you even get into the actual magick. If you successfully make it through it, your entire being and worldview will be changed.
I have a book about that and did some research on it it’s pretty confusing, any practical and accurate website to have a start with it?
Sorry but it’s against the rules to post links to external service providers. If the site has payment options, it’s a service provide and not allowed. This blanket ban prevents the forum from being targeted by spammers. And we cannot provide reviews or recommendations for service providers for the same reason.
The book recommended is good, work with it slowly and step by step and it will become clear. You can also look up you tube videos explaining hermetics.
Post removed.
Can I then just copy and paste the things about hermetics from the site here?
I have also looked at book but in Amazon America it’s a ok price 40.00 but here in the Netherlands the book 62.01 20 euro increase so I’m not buying it there I’m going to weigh my options
Not if it violates copyright law, no. It’s ok to post a small amount in support of an argument with citations - this is considered “fair use”.
Is there a reason why I’ve seen the word God two times in hermetics?
I’m not that familiar with Intitiations in to Hermetics, but very familiar with Hermetic philosphy. The interpretation of god in Hermetic philosophy is quite different from Christianity. Not really a meddlesome, judgey and jealous alpha primate in the sky. One of the other terms, for instance, is “The All” and usually more seen as something like the lifegiving and creating fabric of the universe. So not so much some external being, but more a mechanism or energy within everything.
God is just another word for Source, or the All, or the Force, whatever word you want to use for the Power that runs throughout creation. Hermetics originated in Greece, where Christianity also originated, and therefore uses the word God. However, it has nothing to do with any particular religion.
And Initiation into Hermetics is out of copyright and freely available on the internet in pdf form.
I agree with Chaos Magick as well as Alchemy. Both require change. How the “guts of it" work is outside of my knowledge domain.
I knew that this is a thing with show characters but I didn’t know it was also for books
How many pages does the book have because I see some pdfs with a varying number of pages?
The copy I have has 363 pages.
No, that’s only half the book.
That’s literally the most pages for downloadable PDFs so that’s shit
The copy I found is the complete book. It literally starts from the front cover and goes all the way to the back cover. There are several incomplete versions floating around that have cut out the introduction, the theory and other bits the compiler thought unimportant (I have one or two of those on a hard drive somewhere as well), but if you can, do your best to find the full book. However, the incomplete versions can be used to get started as they do usually cover at least most of the program.
You should be warned, though, that Initiation into Hermetics is very difficult. It takes a minimum of two years to complete, and most modern mages are incapable of doing so as it requires real discipline, something lacking in those who are only looking for a quick fix. It does, however, have a reputation for building incredibly powerful magicians.
Plenty of versions HERE
