Some people just want to reject things that become popular. I was just thinking how long ago that book came out now and suddenly feel old :joy:

Here’s the deal tho

You don’t believe in the law of attraction…

Well then you’re never going to discover it works :joy: … or do enough to change anything

Was annoying to myself to realise that!

Christians (or any other religion with santa style gods you can ask for stuff) prayers get answered and therefore proof- you ask/you get … the trusting part might be the biggest, how sure you are you’ll get

Some people harness their faith and practice LoA and were doing… LONG before some of these books and teachers popped up

What do you recommend to start with NLP?

I would choose something specialized to an area of your life you want to improve to start. Then if you enjoy practicing vs learning branch out from there. Avoid Tony Robbins and Richard Bandler audios unless you want a lot of story telling and fluff on top of the teachings. You can condense a 4 hour Bandler seminar down to 45 minutes of actual content.

That’s the thing tho - to sell it you gotta fluff it up and make people give you their time

But it’s bloody irritating when you just wanna learn and gotta wade through all the fluff to find the meat

You can definitely learn from Bandlers books. His books are for learning, his audios and seminars more if you want to experience NLP.

This book is ridiculously good, even if confidence isn’t an issue of yours. The first half of the book is story telling and about applying different things to different scenarios etc but then the second half is pure academic with like 20+ NLP techniques… the really good ones too.

Chris Howard was decent and Paul McKenna too. It’s been at least a decade though since I really studied NLP though. I mostly studied though but, what I did practice was highly successful. I tend to slack on self development when I get into intense relationships though.

May be helpful for some on the thread

You like Neville I would also check out Sammy Ingram on YouTube manifested a few things because of her simple style of teaching

bump. check this thread out if you haven’t

I’ve been reading the NG reddit page for some time. Be careful not to focus on the success stories too much. You may start wondering why YOU haven’t had success and we all know were doubt leads us. The hardest thing is living in the end. It takes time and i’ve had a lot of success. I’ve followed NG teachings through other peoples translations of them. He was brlliant, but also quite boring and monotone to listen to or read. Been practicing LOA since 2006. It really works miracles if you’re dedicated.

I’d agree with this. In the early days sometimes it was all that kept me going, but after a certain point you no longer really feel compelled to read the subreddit or look for other peoples’ successes.

Doubly so for the SP page. If you’re manifesting a relationship with someone it either makes you feel bad and compare yourself to someone else (“why isn’t this happening for me?”), or you cringe because people are posting “success” stories because they got a text message from their SP. sorry not sorry, but that’s like trying to manifest a new car and being excited because you found a hood ornament on the street and calling it a success. it might be a sign that you’re headed in the right direction but it’s not a success story.

Isn’t this technique just a way of using your subconscious mind to change your health and maybe even reality ?
