If I was a powerful witch

Today I realized that there are many people in this world who were born sick, people for which life threw so many obstacles at them that they are overwhelmed.

Imagine for a second if you couldn’t even breathe normally, or think clearly, or have the means to somehow find a way out of your pain. Things most of us take for granted are in many cases things other people fight each second of their life to hold on to.

And what I feel right now is this: If I mastered magick and I was a powerful witch, here’s a list I would immediately go ahead and write to myself:

  • Offer someone who needs it one of my personal objects, bless it with a good luck and a protective charm beforehand. This can be a friend, a peer, or a stranger who seems kind.

  • Find someone who struggles with something related to magick, reach out to that person personally and go together with them through the process until they get what they were looking for. Be like a mother.

  • Find someone who’s life is about to end, someone very sick perhaps and use my magick to save that person’s life without getting involved into their life or disturbing them. It should be done in secret without anyone else knowing about it, not even that person.

The list would probably be bigger than that, but these are the first things that came to my mind.

I’d do that and I wouldn’t tell anyone about it, not even the entities I work with.

Why would I do that ? Because if with all the knowledge I have and with all the power I have I’ve never used them to touch anyone’s else’s life for the better than myself then where is the satisfaction of mastering any of it ? I don’t think there’s something more satisfactory than reaching into the darkest night and bringing someone out of there, giving them a second chance to life.

I am neither powerful neither a witch, I can barely help myself and I still can’t activate a sigil, but if there are any out there I do hope they are using their magick to help others too.

Interestingly enough this is, in part, a very RHP perspective in an LHP place (BALG) at least in origin. If you do not know what RHP and LHP mean just in case, it stands for right hand path and left hand path, and since you are new as far as I know I think it would be useful for you to know.

Right hand path generally involves wiccan practices, kabbalistic practicioners, people who seek to unite with the source of all things/“God”/Monad. They adhere to concepts such as karma, what they perceive as universal laws etc. They use magic first and foremost for others, at least in theory.

The LHP is the opposite. On BALG most here seek self-deification, they are their own gods, morality, and judge and master. The individual consciousness is sacred, and use what the RHP would shun or dogmatically consider as “evil”, “wicked”, “demonic” and so on.

The LHP generally don’t believe in karma, and certainly do not wish to bend to universal laws or society but rather use them in whatever way they wish, “good” or “bad”. Which does not mean an LHP cannot help anyone, nor that the RHP necessarily help everyone and harm no one.

In RHP, practicioners help others directly, in the LHP, they may choose to help or not but will prefer, if they do, to teach people to help themselves. Give a man a fish he eats for a day, teach him how to fish he will eat for the rest of his life.

More precisely however LHP and RHP are just labels to categorize the way magic is approached as a practice and an end in itself, it’s pretty reductive and you can even combine both, but it can be an useful simplification.

The messiah syndrome is also a common beginner’s trap in the occult. Here’s why.

When you realize all of this is real and actionnable, you may want to help people who, in reality, will prove skeptical, ungrateful, and even detrimental to your own spiritual development. They will ask you more and more just because you happen to provide them what they want, then one day they will hate you for not doing it anymore or refusing to scale up until you’re bled dry.

You do what you want of course at the end of the day, but I would recommend focusing on yourself first, and then if you wish to do it, help others after. One who cannot help himself cannot help others. Fortunately you seem not to widen that generosity to just anyone other than friends or peers. It is when a practitioner wants to save the world like Jesus reborn that they do more harm than good to both themselves and others. I definitely respect the idea, but like all things, balance is a good thing to have sometimes, in my humble opinion.

As always with what I say, it’s just my opinion, not a requirement to follow.

Healing usually needs conscious permission, or the energy tends to get rejected. It’s not wasted, as qi is sentient and will go where it’s needed the most, but that might not be where your ego decided.

Generally, this is not a good idea. You are assuming for someone what is good for them, but you have no idea who they are or why they are doing what they do, and this is belittling, treating them as a child that cannot do for themselves.

That’s not cool. They are not children, and they must have a say in thier own life to live it as they will, and learn what they need to in thier own time. It’s not for you to say what another should or should not do. Bear in mind, work like that can even be sensed as a psychic attack by the target’s guides, because you are imposing your will instead of working with them cooperatively. If you are very unlucky, you can get attacked back, though this is rare, and usually you’re just seen as well meaning, but unwanted.

Each person has thier own path, and plans at the spiritual level, and you could be royally screwing it up by interfering.

Why do you assume for them that being incarnate as human is the be all and end all? It’s not, imo. It’s just a step on the way, for a specific purpose to learn some things, and there is no need to be afraid or or resist death. We all die, and that is how it should be.

So you don’t really want to assume for someone or impose your will on them, not even for healing - you have to ask them and get thier ok.

I didn’t mean it that way, I was referring to someone who is very sick who wants to live, who wants to be saved, not just any sort of person. I’ve seen such people and it breaks my heart, it’s one of the saddest things I’ve ever witnessed.

How would you know though? People are disconnected from spirit and don’t even know what they are doing, so what makes you think you know better?

I will add a suggestion, for what you can do instead.

You can offer energy, reach out to the higher self or however you see that, and say “I see you are suffering and I want to help, take what you will and use it as you wish, with love”.

That works, and if they want healing, great, and if they don’t, they can use it for something else. However, it can be (and this I have experience a few times now), that if the person (or animal) is leaving, they can use that energy to help them get out of the body faster - they “die” faster.

It costs a lot of energy to break out of the physical vessel, and the body has to be damaged enough to not hold it back. So the suffering continues until the balance tips. You can prolong that suffering and make the death last longer by healing enough t keep them alive but not enough to get well.

This can leave you feeling like you killed them. You didn’t, you helped them end thier suffering and it was thier choice, but it’s not for but it’s not for everyone. You basically act as a Valkyrie, an aspect of Death. Or as I have borrowed the term, a “Daughter of the Morrighan”.

A witch is maiden, mother AND crone, and there is a cycle and a balance to life. It’s not always summertime.

What do you mean how would you know ? You can see it.

I can give you a clear example of the kind of person I am talking about in private so that you can see what I mean.

No you cannot “always”. As I said, the person themselves doesn’t always know. This can be deep work that is held away from the surface.

Also that would be incredibly invasive and rude, to try to pry into someone’s inner being without permission. Usually we have protections that prevent that from all but the strongest psychics. Which according to you, you are not.

You are coming across as merely virtue signalling, going “look was a good witch I am”, without actually caring about the will or inner life of who you impose your will on.

Consider it this way. On planes, they tell you to put your own oxygen mask on before helping others. It’s like that - grow as a person yourself and gain understanding of the inner workings of the universe, before judging others. Then you will be able to speak from experience.

No thank you. I thin this person has has thier privacy invaded quite enough already. Let’s just leave them be.

Most you could do is see their energy without speaking to their HGA/higher self whatever you wanna call it as well as whether or not they have parasitic energies attached to them.

I speak from experience from scanning a friend/love interest. The more you try to peer in uninvited the more you’ll get bitten.

An alternative way of explaining the perspective, in my opinion. This is reflected in this game dialog, it’s fiction of course but I feel like it could be an appropriate way of seeing why good intentions may sometimes have bad consequences. Not always, of course, but sometimes. Hopefully this doesn’t come across as non-serious but I do think it can be a way of elevating the debate of that.

As the “good lord” said in Christianity, "I only help those who help themselves. You can provide as much energy as you want to a person but unless they actively use it to better themselves it becomes directionless

My point really was "just ask them first", but this extends the question into, "what if someone does consciously ask for healing, but that could cause more problems?

Do you just try to heal them without using any discernment? Can you give them enough to actually heal or are you just making them take longer to die? They suffer more, while in the US, if they are in hospital every night drains their bank account leaving thier family less while the vampires get more and the family has to watch them.

Some people do ask for prayers or healing, and then I think it’s well to send them some positive energy.

Some people also wish they could just die faster. They are done and want to move on. Dying people sometimes start to see the astral and know they have something else to do. Some dying people hang on only to see family one last time and then let themselves go. They can also feel guilty for dying when they want to go but family begs them to stay.

Death is complicated and very badly handled and misunderstood in the West. People need support and understanding and don’t get it. and forcing them to stay willy nilly seems wrong to me.

But philosophy aside, you can do more harm than good if you don’t get permission.

A thin line lies between egoism and altruism - are you helping others to make them feel better, make yourself feel better, or both?

Morality is a thing that nowadays, I would repeat after Nietzsche, serves to signal superiority, belonging, power.

To fix someone’s life for them is not unlike potlach, as it is humiliating, robbing them of agency. To consider expanding one’s power to carry on your back, even for a moment, those who are powerless, as good, is it not just showing off your superiority then? Is it not showing that you are in excess as opposed to their lack and like a village chief or a multibillionare sheikh, flaunt that excess (the benefits of summits in excess notwithstanding)? Finally, if you are not in such excess, as to make this gift proportionally trivial to yourself, where this help you offer will drain you and set you back, really make you suffer and work more - aren’t you then now betraying yourself to please others? And for the sake of a social convention of how we must be seen and see ourselves, no less? Or is it that the mirror neurons became too sensitive to bear witnessing anothers’ suffering, making you slave to pity?

Be strong and raise others up to your level of strength. Don’t carry them on your shoulders as that will make their muscles athropy in time.

Wanting to save someone who wants to be saved is incredibly rude and invasive ? So then it’s better to just let someone die even if you could help them ?

I am not trying to impress anyone, I just wrote what I felt I wanted to do if I could do it. It’s not even supposed to be about me and I don’t think I am a good person anyway. It’s supposed to be about helping other people.

I didn’t judge anyone

I wasn’t going to share anything meant to be private, I’m not that kind of person.

I wasn’t talking about people that want to die

“Saved” is debatable, as I said. I don’t think you actually read what I said.

So, no, probing thier mind without permission to take info that is private and doesn’t belong to you is invasive and rude. It’s a kind of rape. No touchy without thier say so!

And my point is you don;t know this. You must ask to get conscious permission. Your UPG is not enough, and you could be causing harm.

Consent is the golden rule.

Where did I say I would do that or that someone else should do that ?

I was talking about healing someone and I think you are talking about entering someone’s mind or something like that which has nothing to do with what I was talking about.

Imagine someone has a bad hearth and is about to die and they don’t want to die, they say so themselves, so you use your magick to heal their heart, that’s what I mean. And you do that from a distance without them needing to know that you did it for them because you want that person to keep living a normal life.

What Mulbery meant is that: you want to help someone? Okay. Do you have their consent to know it is truly, deeply, spiritually the thing they desire rather than what you only yourself want to do? Not sure? Then a probing of their higher self or mind to see what is their most deepest wish, to be aided, or to fade away. But that to do that probing would likely be without consent and count as intrusion, and also do more harm than good (because it shifts their decision from ours alone), that’s what she meant I think. Correct me if i’m wrong.

Then again it implies you know/believe about higher selves which is another different thing altogether.

I don’t want to probe their mind why would I want to do that to anyone. I wouldn’t do that even if they asked me to and I don’t understand what you mean by higher power.

I don’t even know what probing means

For me if a person asks for help that to me means they need and want help.

That’s where the confusion came from then. Higher selves are different from the physical self, but I will let others explain since I myself only have extremely rudimentary (to not say not knowing shit pretty much :joy:) about it.

Your own words in this thread…

Here - in your OP, your plans are without any conscious explanation to these peoples of what you are doing or asking for consent.

And:

No, you can’t “see it” - that is called UPG - unverified personal gnosis You might be right, but being unverified, you’re probably just projecting.

You might have what’s called a savior complex - you want to mommy people, and treat them as children. This is NOT healthy. For you or them.

People are sovereign spirits with thier own agency, and you disrespect them as higher beings if you treat them as children who don’t know what they are doing and assuming for them what they want.

YES, if they ASK, then you have conscious permission, that was my point all along
