Could also be an angel number.

I actually came back to mention, for myself, I have chosen as a deliberate magickal act to “standardize” on angel numbers. This way the universe has a clear route to give me numbers that are unambiguously easy to look up.
I did that by simply practicing it, looking up angel numbers only angel numbers, acknowledging them as angel numbers and thanking the universe for the message. That kind of ‘trains’ that level of interaction for you, like doing an action in martial arts trains you to move a certain way, though repetition it becomes ingrained.

I think Mulberrys first couple replies might hold merit, for example, Shax might be trying to get your attention.
It sounds more like a message. You will need to look up the numerology meaning of the number. I would also check to see if something else keeps occur around you noticing it.
44 is a balanced number that is based in 11, 4 and summed down to 8. So, some other numbers to look at are 2, 4, and 8 as 11 is summed to 2. It is an interesting sequence in that regard as 114=44 and 24=8.
