I am new

Hello, I’m new. Just started something called Quareia as an apprentice. Learning meditation.

Hello and welcome.

Haven’t heard about Quareia, you should ellaborate, since it is a rule to speak a little more about yourself in your introduction.

Hi there,

Here is the website: Quareia. There are three tiers with multiple lessons each. The creator said that it could potentially take a decade to go through everything, so it’s quite substantial.

I’ve been a fan of EA’s work since some of his early writings. After I heard an interview with him I knew he was the real deal and practiced everything he wrote about. I was still on the fence for years/spent a lot of time mostly studying magick academically and seeing it as a cultural phenomenon.

Going through an intro to magick course by Jason Louv required me to ask the Universe it this was the right path for me, understanding that it would be made known for sure either way. Without getting into some personal specifics, I now know this is one of the forks in the road I must take.

Cheers

Thanks, glad to be here. :slightly_smiling_face:

How long have you been practicing magick?

Several years but “practicing” is a strong word for what I was doing. Maybe I actually did something 5 times or so. Starting with a regular, nearly daily practice since the 1st of this year. It’s only been meditation so far and some visualization.

I’m familiar with Quaria. I like Josephine McCarthy, but please be aware her cosmology is VERY different than the one we use as demonologists. It’s so different it’s not easy to draw parallels, and takes a lot from xtian perspectives on branding all demons as only wanting to cause harm. She makes a point of mentioning she does NOT follow any medieval or modern western authors and her base views go back to voodoo and abrahamic religions, ie strongly xtian influenced historically even though she says she isn’t, it’s in how she grew up.

As such, discussions of demons on this site will look very confusing from that RHP style model. It’s best left at the door here.

Her info on nature spirits, geomancy and human ghost hauntings is pretty good, imo.

Good point @Mulberry. I have noticed that when looking through all of her lessons. I’m impressed with the size and scope of her project, her desire to keep it inclusive, and ideas about land, plants and local spiritual… things(?). I probably won’t agree with everything she says but that’s okay with me. It’s something to do and a path to start on. For divination, I have the BALG course to chew on.
