It comes from druidic tradition

It was likely a drink brewed using hallucinogenic and narcotic plants. The druids were pretty much wiped out by the Romans so there are no extant recipes. Most of the plants that were used in such things are poisonous, such as belladonna (a popular hallucinogenic herb used in witch’s flying ointments) so you would have to learn from someone knowledgeable and skilled in the medicinal use of such plants as doing it wrong could be deadly.
