How does someone make familiars?

some spirits in the Goetia is said too provide familiars, so I’m wondering how someone can make them assuming of course that these familiars aren’t just animals.

Interpretations of what familiars is, but this is assuming that they are spiritual beings and not real life animals

  • Paimon (9th Spirit, King): One of the most prominent providers, he gives “good familiars” and teaches all arts and sciences.

  • Belial (68th Spirit, King): Known for distributing high-ranking titles and giving “excellent familiars”.

  • Buer (10th Spirit, President): Teaches moral and natural philosophy and logic, and gives “good familiars”.

  • Amdusias (67th Spirit, Duke): Associated with music (causing trees to bend to his will) and gives “excellent familiars”.

  • Malphas (39th Spirit, President): Can build houses and high towers, but also gives “good familiars” if the practitioner is deserving.

  • Gaap (33rd Spirit, President/Prince): Can cause love or hatred and deliver “familiar spirits” out of the custody of other magicians.

  • Purson (20th Spirit, King): Knows all hidden things and treasures, and gives “good familiars”.

  • Shax (44th Spirit, Marquis): Can take away sight or hearing but is also cited as a provider of familiars.

  • Amy (58th Spirit, President): Provides knowledge of astrology and liberal sciences, and bestows “good familiars”

Familiars are essentially “helper” spirits. They can be spirits gifted by a greater spirit such as those you listed from the Goetia, or it can be a servitor created by the magician themselves. Traditionally, a witch’s familiar was a lesser spirit conjured and bound to a physical vessel, usually believed to be a black cat, though it could also be bound to inanimate things like rings or pendants. The familiar was said to serve the witch in service to the Devil, and in some lore, it was said to be the source of the witch’s power. By destroying its vessel, the witch’s power was then broken.

Interesting do you know of any easy spells to do to make a familiar, I work with one of the goetic spirits mentioned here, so I will ask for that spirits help with the creation

I do so through an offering and petition.

No - as DarkestKnight already said, they already exist as beings in their own right, you do not make them, so you have to conjure, or invite them to be with you, or as you have noticed, ask a known entity to lend you one - as @Lyubov also mentions above.

You would then develop a relationship with that spirit (or spirits), up to and including providing it with a vessel to help it stay near you.

However…
… what you can make is “servitors”.

Also called thoughforms. And you can give those vessels also.

This is not a beginner working imo - you need to provide the specifications for the servitors behavior and put some intensity of directed energy though intention into building it. For this reason they tend to get stringer over time, but you can take your time and keep working it to make a great servitor.

Some people share them on the forum (search “free servitor”) as this helps them grow. They become egregores when many people work to build them.
