Hi once in the internet i was watching story o Hindu demon called hastar.
“Tumbbad derives its scares not from the movement of shadows in the periphery or the creaking old iron doors but from the black void that every man conceals within himself. And Hastar, the fallen god-turned-demon, is **the entity that seeks the void within all those who seek his gold” - article from wikipedia.
I was thinking do anyone have experience with him or was working with this demon. He can teach something or help you out with soemthing ?
My feeling is, no this entity is the personification of greed, so it will not help with anything because that requires giving, which is the opposite of what it does.
In consideration, attempting to work with it seems like a trainwreck waiting to happen.
This is a Bollywood movie based on local legends. It’s described here:
This is a warning and tragic tale, a man tries to steal gold from Hastar and ends up being turned into a monster and being set on fire by his own son.
I did like this part at the end:, the author is thoughtful and precise.
Is Hastar a real god?
Before coming to any conclusion, let us first summarize what we have read so far.
Although there is no reference to Hastar in any Hindu scriptures, it has a close resemblance with Tvastar who is a god from the Rig Veda.
The names Hastar and Tvastar sound similar.
Tvastar is an enemy of gods per the Mahabharata and also per the legend.
Tvastar’s son Trishira was doing penance to win heaven at his encouragement. It shows his greedy nature.
There is a real legend about Hastar in Tumbbad village that resembles the plot of the movie.
The villagers believe that there is a treasure in their village.
There are many Hindu gods worshipped locally who are not mentioned in the Vedas or Puranas.
Thanks for explaining it to me. I think you are right about him. I was also curious about this one and legend. Also thanks for giveing me the link i will read it later
Well so i will never contact with him if he is that dangerous. Better not
