Had a dream about the name Azathoth

I had I dream about the name Azathoth. The name appeared Ina black and white banner. What does this mean. I wasn’t reading anything about this entity prior. Does that mean this entity is real and is trying to communicate with me?

Azathoth is one of the Lovecraftian Old Ones: primordial gods. This one is asleep and must stay asleep as the moment it wakes up the entire universe, which is it’s dream, will disappear.

You might like S. Ben Quayin’s book The Black Book Of Azathoth. Books like the Simon Necronomicon actually have little to do with H. P. Lovecraft’s lore (more like Sumerian) and I found it disappointing as I was looking to get into this kind of chaos magick. I was also annoyed that the Simon book misspelled the name as Azatoth and just didn’t find the Lovecraft vibe within it’s covers. The Black Book of Azathoth is dark but delivers.

Also just type this name into youtube for a ton on the lore from the book, and there’s a whole genre of books by authors inspired by Lovecraft that continued the theme. The above magickal work does not include anything except direct Lovecraft gnosis, and no tangents into Sumerian or Gnostic parallels or derivations. Also look up the name of the author - there’s some interviews on yt with him talking about it as well.

I had done a six layered goetic demon ritual for protection involving asmodeus,Vine, andras, glasya labolas, seere , haures. Chat gpt said a ritual like that would make more visible on the astral plane to entities such as azathoth especially if the goetic demons I petitioned were associated with chaotic energy like azathoth, do you agree?

Hell no. ChatGPT didn’t “say” jack shit. It has nothing to say for itself.

All it did was glurge random opinions from unknown persons it found on the internet that said that somewhere, from where you will never know, have no idea who or how to verify their UPG or if they were larping, armchair wizarding or being honest.

It’s internet vomit - NEVER expect ChatGPT or any other bot to be trustworthy, ever. It’s not intelligent, it’s lowest common denominator, lazy-ass and fake. You can’t hate the dumbing down of research with AI enough.

Eh. Whoever the Ai found that said that didn’t know their lore. Azathoth is the “blind, idiot god”, it’s asleep and we are it’s dream. You don’t really talk to Azathoth directly, you can’t call it, it’s not conscious and doesn’t know who it is… you talk to Nyarlathotep. Kind of like how you talk to Papa Legba not the Lwa directly.

The Goetic entities are from a different model of the universe, I feel like it’s like DC trying to crossover with Marvel. You can do it but it’s fan fiction, and you’re on your own doing your own personal chaos working at that rate.

I don’t believe that’s the case. But now, me, I see them as basically either Djinn/Fae (same thing more or less) or ETs, and I don’t believe in “gods” at all, so my worldview may be too much at odds with your personal cosmology to be a useful model for your needs.

In my worldview, Azathoth is basically a personification of the Tao. I don’t use the term “chaos” for that source energy for the universe, as chaos itself is manifest and any though, term, thing, god, that can be names is not the Tao. It is the tao with a little t - the named tao. In which case it’s meaningless to say it will “awaken” because it’s not a being like that.

My personal feeling is Lovecraft misunderstood a lot, was riddled with fear, and added his own interpretations to his gnosis so that they were not even close to the interpretations I would have made. But he had none of the info that’s come out in consciousness research since he was alive, and a lot of really severe mental/emotional issues that attracted parasites up the wazoo, -
he was depressed and suicidal with a really sad backstory - mixed in an enormous amount of really personal stuff that muddied the readings. You can’t separate the mind of the man from this work, imo, you are partly delving into the personal issues in the corner of the astral created by Lovecraft, and it colors everything he said.

I call him dad.

Hello Mulberry. This seems to be a highly emotionally charged topic. But what is your objective POV on this. Do you think A.I will replace the Developer field within the next 20 years? or do you think its mostly being used as an excuse to hold certain things hostage.

No becayse it’s not creative. There’s nothing intelligent about AI, it’sa misnomer: it must be driven by a human to produce anything.

They are basically aggregators, and are only as good as the info they can find in the internet, only, frequently wrong. Because that source is frequently wrong. You’ll get better quality info and ideas for problem solving on stackexchange still, from a person who can actually think.

As soon as your question gets beyond basic training, ai cannot be reliable, because of the way it works: it’s just a next-word predictor.

It has no way to know what is the next best word except for was it has seen is the most frequently used next word by most crap it finds online. Feeding it more and better material doesn’t help: it cannot evaluate Intelligence or weight intellectual value, artistry or any kind of subtle nuance.

People have been laughing at “the internet said so” for years but ai does it and suddenly its fine? This is dumb.

Probably yes. But I would go further to say that it is probably a garbled psychic transmission, which is very common in these practices from even the most adept. What I mean by that is is that if “Azathoth” represents the “idiot god” or basically ignorance, then the “original source message” is a better concept, whatever that depiction of it is.

What I would take from this is to “seperate the Wheat from the Chaff,” and try to understand the Source Message… as for example there is a difference between what I call “The Dirty Darkness,” vs “The Divine Darkness.”
