Energy Excercise and Raising

Ever since reading Robert Bruce’s Astral Dynamics book, I have been split in my opinion about energy work. What exactly would be a qualified, reliable energy exercise routine?

Now, I have come to realize that I need energy raising techniques, and exercises in general beyond what I now have, for general purposes. Unfortunately, Bruce’s stuff is something I’m on the fence about. When I first began his techniques, I ended up losing energy sensitivity to my left leg. It was my strongest, now it barely allows any energy flow. Overall, my feel of energy in the body is weak when performing his tactile stuff, worse than when I first started… it is like it is blocking me instead of helping, although in other ways I do feel exhausted after doing them. Thoughts? Anyone want to share their experiences with his stuff?

Also, I can’t visualize energy raising like I used to do to doubt. The misgiving of him insisting his tactile method is ostensibly more effective than visualization was just too much. I almost regret reading his book. Perhaps I should extend that regret so that it’s complete? Or was there something to learn here?

This isn’t at all about astral projection anymore, even though his book is about it. It is about moving energy in the body. I am in a position in life where I have almost no privacy, and MUST keep my practice secret of JCI biggotry. So I can’t be seen meditating (as that sparks a voilent reaction) and haven’t found much practical Chi-gong that can be done in a short amount of time. I did find stuff two years ago, but the videos I had are missing for some reason, and the woman who did them is gone from youtube. (sighs in disappointment.)

Anyway, the tldr:

  • What are the experiences of others regarding the tactile energy raising methods?
  • What was gained from tactile energy exercises, if anything? Like remote viewing or AP?
  • Does anyone have some techniques to share that are at least discrete, or maybe can be done in the shower or in bed?
-does anyone have a good suggestion for opening / healing the chakras? I’ve got the basic bijas and all that, but I just want to know if that’s enough or if there’s some other means (like the tactile method Robert Bruce espouses). What works for you?

Do you mean the “awareness hands” thing?
I didn’t do it, and I agree with you, while it clearly worked for him and his students, it feels unnatural t me. I think it’s trying to get you to use the hands that are part of your lightbody, or qi body, but the way it’s described could potentially cause a person to create thoughtforms instead.

I prefer the way EA Koetting describes that in his soul travel course. You don’t create new disembodied hands, you try to move your actual hands while in TGS. But for AP I actually use Michael Raduga’s system of lucid dreaming techniques.

I already knew qigong and I would simply place my mind in the energy points required, not move astral or thoughtform hands there.

The energy flows to where your mind is focused. In qigong they say “energy follows mind”. In practicing multiple focus points (“splitting awareness hands” you can learn to direct your energy flow to both sides of your body at once.
There is a very similar idea in qigong where you open both palm point (laogong) at the same time, this using your mind’s attention to direct your energy flow is a basic skill worth having.
If you already knew how to do this from other ways or naturally, you can skip it.

If I have no privacy and no time, it only takes a minute of loking like you’re just resting your eyes to breathe in qi from he cosmos 3 times, and run the microcosmic orbit 3 times to balance it

Personally, I don’t entirely believe in or use the chakras. I think they’re thoughtforms and optional, I don’t have any, and I destroyed the ones I’d started to make doing people’s classes. I see them like training wheels on a bike, but people get used to them and never take them off. They never get involved with the nadis and finer points.
There’s no chakras in qigong. There are energy storage centers and energy points where the meridians come close to the skin.
Someone else will hopefully have a good answer for this

Personally what has worked for me is just energy channeling and reiki. The pillar exercise is also very good as well as charka exercises/meditation. Now i did have a very good experience with Bruce’s work but i dont open and close my chakras. Also, like @Mulberry said chi gong is also awesome and it looks like an exercise so no one questions it. The microscopic orbit is an amazing exercise. Mantak Chia has some amazing books on chi gong.

Personally, if Robert Bruce’s work doesn’t vibe with you, I would pick up a good book on sex magick, as sex magick requires the proper raising and circulation of energy, so there are a lot of good techniques.

I really like Jason Miller’s Sex, Sorcery and Spirit, where the emphasis is on the Central Channel and meridians, and techniques like reverse breathing, and the breath of fire are used to rouse the energy of the body. Miller’s work is derived from his training in tantra.

I also like Jason Newcomb’s Sexual Sorcery. It provides exercises for working with the chakras, as well as the microcosmic orbit. Unlike Miller, who trained extensively in the East, Newcomb’s book is based more in Western ceremonial magick.

One of the simplest is to just breath through them. Put your focus on each chakra, and when you inhale, try to feel like you are not only drawing air into your lungs, but also into your chakra. Then when you exhale, feel it going out of the chakra as well. You can make this feeling more pronounced by slightly tensing the area where the chakra is located upon the inhale, and relaxing it when you exhale (this is particularly useful for the Mulhadrara, or root chakra, located at the perineum, as “perineum pumps” are a Taoist technique for raising sexual energy).

It could be the case that you weren’t really feeling the energy localized exactly in your body, which is what is causing it to feel more difficult as you have to be more precise.

Can you feel your right toe that is next to the pinky toe? Can you feel all around it, from the base to the tip, on the sides, and move energy back and forth in that specific toe? Not just somewhere down there, but precisely in that toe, so that the energetic sensations make your toe tingle.

These methods improved my ability to sense other kinds of energy. I also use various methods, techniques, and constructs from various sources in “energy work” practice.

If you want to meditate, just say you’re praying. For energy work, I used to do things like bounce energy through my fingers and trace energy pathways while sitting in class or walking around or waiting in line.

All extremely good resources. Thank you everyone! And I can feel the magick working to help today, as I immediately went to duckduckgo and found the woman on youtube who does the qigong. And it was the exact video I lost! (I don’t know what happened to it. I infrequently lose things on my laptops for some unknown causes. Especially conspiracy research material of highest quality, like an AMAZING research paper by a Russian meteorologist on the study of hurricane creation. It was fascinating and thorough. Gone one day without a trace.)

Anyway, I think I was always kind of doing Chigong when I was a little one, as some of those movements are very similiar, and I was always surging my nadis (I like the name more than meridians, though the latter is probably a more accurate word), with pure Joy. Alas, we grown ups tend to have a significant lack of pure, ecstatic joy, and the West would have us white males be lifeless brutal automatons. (God I spelled that right on the first try.

I’ll definitely check out Jason Miller’s stuff on sex magick. I’ve been meaning to search for some stuff on it.

And regarding AP… most of my hurdles are physiological and a new one instantly crops up the moment I fix another. The most consistent issue is the mouth. I cannot breathe if I relax the mouth completely, and I must be lying down, my neck almost got snapped from a trampolene fall when I was 3, and it simply can’t be balanced upright for long. 60 dollar chiropractice appointments a week aren’t for me, thanks! But then… I can’t really enter relaxation while I’m gagging. (pulls hair a little. Maybe the stuff from Raduga will be the secret. Honestly though, I’ve found UTTER Silence, as instructed by the UR Group’s Introduction to Magic Rituals is the secret for me, but my Writer’s mind was trained to endlessly think at literally ALL times, even while asleep. All my dreams are scripted stories, complete with plot. What’s so sad is I’m always semi-lucid enough to KNOW I’m dreaming, to know what the dream’s storyline and plot are, and to basically act as a mod for it and fix what’s wrong. (Laughs hysterically). But never lucid enough to stop the madness and say, "No! Astral Project, or let me actually eat the damn ice cream!.

But I’m rambling, for give me.

Thank you all for these resources and opinions. I’m feeling much better now. I wanted to know whether others had had STAGGERING and general success with the tactile work, because it makes a certain degree of sense, and started working for me at first, but now just doesn’t. It may be due to deep internal trauma and negative energy though, sadly. :frowning: My recent fasting and Silence I went through over the last week indicates, along with some excellent diviniation readings by a forum member here, that there’s a great deal of dark, self-harming forces internally that need to be released. So who knows. But I strongly suspect the left leg is trying to ground and then “push” the bad energy out.

To answer shinri’s questions, yes I actually could do everything you describe with the energy sensing. I could sense each toe and each part of the toe, and still can on the right leg. But after performing the exercises more regularly, that sensitivity got worse, not better. Again, I think the bad energy just wasn’t being cleared out fast enough and that’s part of it. And I know there’s some really odd stuff and entities involved, possibly self-created thoughtforms of my subconscious.

And I don’t usually try to think about it, but my family are all in dire straits right now, I’m probably the best off, and I’ve been a step from what the mainstream society would call insane… and definitely severely depressed. I know a lot of the negative energy is being radiated from them, and two in particularly are elderly and are very strong psychic vampires, they just don’t realize it. My poor mother literally rips the life out of the room when she rushes into it, like a vortex. And my father is a slow, but relentless drain.

Funny how they are blocking my energetic growth, and may need to be healed before I reach the point that I can actually heal them.

I may incorperate feeling my nadis along with my chi lel qigong and new routines I’m finding for it. That should do the trick. Visualizations definitely help me more than hurt.

Apologies for the long posts. I tend to ramble. My old writer’s habit. And I just don’t get on frequently enough to post snippets and so must settle for long scrolls.

I reach out my astral hand and astral leg or foot at my dreams, just focusing on it, preferably with anxiety, I have held the hand of a spirit approaching my bed before
