Do entites have genders?

Or do they present themselves as a gender of their choosing?

Excellent question. They seem to be fluid in this regard and choose what best suits their purpose with each magickian/each time. I don’t think gender exists for them the way we perceive it here.

Read the Principle of Gender in this book for a more solid in-depth understanding of why spirits appear as they do: The Kybalion PDF, archived link (we don’t trade PDFs on here as a general rule but this one is okay, the text is out of copyright and the edition was given for download from the site that created it).

Gender theory as is currently in the headlines is a human social construct, created by a man who thought it was a good idea to force children to simulate sexual acts, and drove his primary human guinea-pig to suicide, after mutilating him and lying about the results of his sick experiment. This is why understanding the metaphysics will be more useful in comprehending this.

Link this story for me would you.

Couldn’t agree more. Great reply, thanks.

No problem:

John William Money (8 July 1921 – 7 July 2006) was a New Zealand psychologist, sexologist and author, specializing in research into sexual identity and biology of gender.

… During his professional life, Money was respected as an expert on sexual behavior, especially known for his views that gender was learned rather than innate. However, it was later revealed that his most famous case of David Reimer was fundamentally flawed.[16] In 1966, a botched circumcision left eight-month-old Reimer without a penis. Money persuaded the baby’s parents that sex reassignment surgery would be in Reimer’s best interest. At the age of 22 months, Reimer underwent an orchidectomy, in which his testicles were surgically removed. He was reassigned to be raised as female and given the name Brenda. Money further recommended hormone treatment to which the parents agreed. Money then recommended a surgical procedure to create an artificial vagina, which the parents refused. Money published a number of papers reporting the reassignment as successful.

For several years, Money reported on Reimer’s progress as the “John/Joan case”, describing apparently successful female gender development and using this case to support the feasibility of sex reassignment and surgical reconstruction even in non-intersex cases.

… David Reimer’s case came to international attention in 1997 when he told his story to Milton Diamond, an academic sexologist, who persuaded Reimer to allow him to report the outcome in order to dissuade physicians from treating other infants similarly.[18] Soon after, Reimer went public with his story, and John Colapinto published a widely disseminated and influential account in Rolling Stone magazine in December 1997.[19]

On July 1, 2002,[20] Brian was found dead from an overdose of antidepressants. On May 4, 2004, after suffering years of severe depression, financial instability, and marital troubles,[21] David committed suicide by shooting himself in the head with a sawed-off shotgun at the age of 38. Reimer’s parents have stated that Money’s methodology was responsible for the deaths of both of their sons.[22]

David Peter Reimer (born Bruce Peter Reimer; 22 August 1965 – 4 May 2004) was a Canadian man born male but reassigned as a girl and raised female following medical advice and intervention after his penis was severely injured during a botched circumcision in infancy.[2]

The psychologist John Money oversaw the case and reported the reassignment as successful and as evidence that gender identity is primarily learned. The academic sexologist Milton Diamond later reported that Reimer’s realization he was not a girl crystallized between the ages of 9 and 11 years[3] and he transitioned to living as a male at age 15. Well known in medical circles for years anonymously as the “John/Joan” case, Reimer later went public with his story to help discourage similar medical practices. He died by suicide after suffering years of severe depression, financial instability, and a troubled marriage.[4]

… Reimer said that Money forced the twins to rehearse sexual acts involving “thrusting movements”, with David playing the bottom role. Reimer said that, as a child, he had to get “down on all fours” with his brother, Brian Reimer, “up behind his butt” with “his crotch against” his “buttocks”. Reimer said that Money forced David, in another sexual position, to have his “legs spread” with Brian on top. Reimer said that Money also forced the children to take their “clothes off” and engage in “genital inspections”. On “at least one occasion”, Reimer said that Money took a photograph of the two children doing these activities. Money’s rationale for these various treatments was his belief that “childhood ‘sexual rehearsal play’” was important for a “healthy adult gender identity”.[16]

For several years, Money reported on Reimer’s progress as the “John/Joan case”. Money wrote, “The child’s behavior is so clearly that of an active little girl and so different from the boyish ways of her twin brother.”[26] Notes by a former student at Money’s lab state that, during the follow-up visits, which occurred only once a year, Reimer’s parents routinely lied to lab staff about the success of the procedure. The twin brother, Brian, later developed schizophrenia.[18]

… By the age of 13 years, Reimer was experiencing suicidal depression and he told his parents he would take his own life if they made him see Money again.[28] Finally, on March 14, 1980, Reimer’s parents told him the truth about his gender reassignment,[29] following advice from Reimer’s endocrinologist and psychiatrist. At 14, having been informed of his past by his father, Reimer decided to assume a male gender identity, calling himself David. He underwent treatment to reverse the reassignment, including testosterone injections, a double mastectomy, and phalloplasty operations.[30][31] On September 22, 1990, he married Jane Fontane and would adopt her three children.[32][33]

This is John Money on pedophilia:

If I were to see the case of a boy aged ten or eleven who’s intensely erotically attracted toward a man in his twenties or thirties, if the relationship is totally mutual, and the bonding is genuinely totally mutual … then I would not call it pathological in any way.

So, because the current ideas about gender identity that are circulating do stem from this man’s warped experimentation and lethal arrogance, I feel a brief and passing reference to it is legitimate, particularly for people concerned with fairness, protecting the vulnerable, and avoiding authoritarian approaches.

The Kybalion is a far more useful magickal reference.

I also did some practical work on using gender polarities within the magician’s own practice:

Didn’t know this story, but it is fascinating. Thank you for the links.

Thank you for the links this was interesting. Very sad but interesting.

They have genders. However some can change genders not all but some. Just as some can shapeshift and some can polymorph but not all. They’re not all the same and they’re born and grow up just as we do, just they stop aging physically atleast a handful of them do anyway.

Some are even born with both genders or neither like elementals and only take on the form of a masculine, feminine, or androgynous figure.

I find that we just assume they can be whatever they want in “physical” form because they don’t exist here in physical form but then forget their own plane is their physical realm and just because the laws slightly differ from our own that everything must be possible there. Humans learned things from other races we didn’t create them out our asses, of course somethings humans did create but things like genders, civilizations, what not that predates us. However, we’re possibly the only race that puts too much thought into which we like, why we like it, which gender wears what, etc.
