Which of these books is better when it comes to communicating with demons, since I’ve heard that demons may not like it when I use angels for protection.
I’m not the best adviser here as I am biased: I use Goetia Pathworking all the time, it’s never failed to get me an excellent connection and while getting the entity to work with me is between me and them, the technique is easy and fruitful. It’s become my goto book for a quick contact with all the Goetia.
On the other hand I’ve never used Demons of Magick, for a reason related to what you state: I find it weak to ask an entity to tell another entity what to do on my behalf. I am not weak, I don’t need angels to mommy me, I AM an angel/demon (same thing), aka a higher being… so if I want something I will ask for it in my OWN name, and no one else’s. The exception is if I’m asking on behalf of another human, hen I call their higher self into the room.
So I never bought the book as the whole kabalistic/Solomonic concept is a turnoff for me and I can’t really compare. It seems fine for other people, it just doesn’t fit my personal philosophy. ![]()
Thank you mentor
Currently using the pathworking keys in DOM for a year long Shem/Goetia challenge and can attest to its effectivness.
The only difference is I contact the Angels and Demons on separate days for separate powers, as I do not believe in constraining the Demons.
Other people have seemed to have success calling on the Angels at the same time, so it’s up to you.
The higher self thing is real after all. My mum has always told me about it but I didn’t believe it until I managed to tap in myself, though I thought I was just being arrogant.
Thank you for helping me be surer of myself :>
Can I ask what method you do to call in their higher self?
Intention. I know who I want to talk to, they know why they are, the connection is already there and made because I know the person and there is only one them. The consious mind is not the person, that’s just the main interface between them and the physical, the higher self IS the actual person.
It is wrong to think the angels constraining the demons they don’t limit demon but guide him/her, think as a project supervisor!
I work with both methods but by different books and both of them was successful!
The Magick of Angels and Demons by Henry Archer for combination of shem angels and goetia
And
Lucifer and Hidden Demons by Theodore Rose for pathworking but his spirits are derived from book of abramelin
As Henry Archer wrote in his book:
" The words ‘constrain’ or ‘bind’ can lead to so much misunderstanding.
What really goes on is that the angelic and divine names don’t limit, control,
harass, ensnare, or chain the demon, but they constrain a demon through
guidance. The demon isn’t forced but is led to perform the best supernatural
activities that it can. By calling the angels, you get the right demon and not some
dangerous shadow or echo of the demon."
I don’t think there is an objective best book. Some methods work better for some than others.
Personally, I’ve had much more in the way of results from DoM, as have many others. But many others get better results from Goetia pathworking.
I suggest that you experiment with both methods over time and see which works best for you.
In demons of magick when you are performing the ritual do you close your eyes only for when you imagine the evocation keys of the particular demon or Are there other parts where you close your eyes?
It’s not “wrong”… Honestly this just sounds like so much backtracking in the face of criticism. Nobody is confused about what “constrain” means and redefining the word after that fact seems weak.
There’s no issue with the old ways of using constraints, it was that age of Pisces and it was how energy worked cosmically, so it fit the world’s energy and was right. Now it no longer fits because we are transitioning to the age of Aquarius, and the critisims is because people can now feel that.
It’s better not to make excuses, rather accept that was the way things were and that’s ok. Own it don’t be a weak apologist for it and try to pretend that’s not what was meant. It totally was.
After that I think adapting he methods away from “constraint” to “project management” makes perfect sense.
I still need no project manager: that’s me and only me, I’m still the only one in charge of my “project” here.
For me its just that part and only sometimes. For things I find harder to imagine like smells i close my eyes, for things that are easier like visuals i keep them open so I can continue looking at the sigil.
I find it very helpful to practice the keys before I begin the ritual
My vote goes to goetia pathworking I have better results from it and it’s easier to use.
Frankly, the less ppl think about the operations of magick and focus on results the better off they will be.
Absolutely. Some people get caught up with experiencing the presence of the demon, and that’s fine. I am more result oriented. If the desired results manifest I could careless how it is being achieved, at least at this stage of my life.
I think Demons Of Magick is the best book for Full Blown Manifestations, but an outright Full Manifestation is not the best if you want build a relationship with a demon (especially if you’re a beginner and new to the demons). I’m currently using the Walk Through Darkness (ePub on Amazon) to atune my feelings and psychics. So that later on I could use DoM full blown manifestations
I use Demons of Magick fairly often. I’ve only worked with the petition and invoking methods, but I’m almost always pleased with the results and I’d actually never want to be without this brilliant book. Sometimes the spirit can come up with the goods fairly fast, and at other times it can take several weeks to see a result. But I can’t say a bad word about it, really.
The first time I ever used it was when I petitioned Bael. That night I had a very strange, horror-movie style dream. At other times there have been flickering candle flames when I call the spirit’s name, etc, or a presence that can feel a little intimidating. So be prepared for a few mildly spooky things to happen now and again.
How are you finding this book? I worked with it a while back but didn’t see much in the way of results
I’ve used several requests on Walk Through Darkness before, and the results are practically instantaneous. I first asked Ronobe to teach me the gift of charisma, and the next day I was making everyone laugh. When I asked Berith about a peculiar matter he answered me promptly (and even harshly), but he gave the right answer at the right time. I already used Corwin’s Goetia Pathworking and Ose really helped me (so I have an aura of ability) I decided to switch systems for my own reasons but I think both of them work really well, that’s why I’m studying a way to kinda add one system to the other. But it’s still an experiment in its infancy.
Many thanks. I wonder where I’m going wrong with it?
I think you’re not going wrong, magick is something very personal. I think that whether or not I work like Djinns, for you to make a wish to a Djinn you have to try to dramatize your request a little. Maybe my subconscious works that way, obviously I ask for things that are possible and even likely for my situation, but my subconscious needs that “air of power” that some more flashy descriptions bring.
