Is the study of Demonology through Google a bad idea?

It is if what you find is a roleplaying, anime or game site, and you take it at face value.
Look for the Unofficial Tutorials thread here and start there, you’ll start it be able to tell fact from fiction fairly quickly. As you get deeper into it you’ll find humans can create egregores from fiction as well, which muddies the waters, but as a new person, start at the basics and if it’s cartoon or game related ignore it. If it sounds kinda dry and serious, like a history book or is relating myth with sources, it’s probably useful. Beware of the fluff bunnies (people that play with the idea but aren’t serious) and those who want money.
But do get books. Obviously this is the site of BALG, who sell pretty decent books on magick. EAs youtube channel is full of basic instruction free - like this site, it has 8 years worth of activity, I suggest scrolling down to the start of the channel and watching the videos in order. You’ll figure out what kinds of magick interest you as you go.

I think best way is to know someone personally thats good at it.

In my experience, Google searching deities isn’t as easy as one may think. My advice would be to look up mythology books.
